I'm not an experienced crocheter myself but just in my opinion I'd always wash anything before I give it to someone - just so I knew it was safe to wash! Also I think it smells nice when something is freshly laundered. Good luck with your scarves! :)

Hi again,

I'm crocheting scarves for Christmas this year using LB Wool-Ease Think & Quick yarn. Should I wash them before I gift them, or not?

Thanks!

I try to always wash everything I give away, now I am not saying there have not been times that I haven't had a chance to. I also like to include a little 'tag' telling them is there are special washing/care instructions or if it is safe to wash and dry and I also like to include what the yarn is (acrylic, wool, cotton ect) that way if they could be alergic they know what was in it. I am also starting to put that I can cats and they think all my yarn is their toys and they love laying on what I am working on no matter how hard I try to keep them off it. Hope this helps!!
