new replies button

Recommended Posts

I like the "new posts - time" button at the top, but sometimes I don't have a whole lot of time to look through several pages of new posts since the last time I was on. Is there a way to put a button on that is for "new replies"? Something that will show the threads that I have a post in that have had new posts since I last looked?

Bolded info at the end is probably the answer to your question.

I don't think that button is new -- I have had it a long time. But if you have been reading while not logged in, it probably did not show up before. It only shows as an option if you are logged in. Here is some info that might help you. It is a copy and paste from the Crochetville FAQs pages:

"How can I see the latest posts?

There are two ways to quickly view recently created or updated threads.

If you are not logged in, the 'today's posts' link will show a list of all threads that have been created or updated in the last 24 hours.

If you are logged in, the 'Today's Posts' link will change to 'New Posts', which gives you a listing of all threads that have been created or updated since your last visit.

The administrator can also set up the forums so that each thread you read is marked in the database. If this option is set, then new threads (or threads with new posts) will not be marked as read until you have actually read them.

There is a built-in time limit to this, however, that will automatically mark all threads as 'read' after a set number of day, whether you really have read them or not. The default setting is 10 days, but the administrator could make this higher or lower."

I am always logged in so I do not see the Today's Posts option. I always just use the New Posts - Time.

To see only those threads that you have posted in, go to USER CP (Look at top left of your page for the button to click) -- The page should immediately show your thread subscriptions. If not, go through the left column of choices. Find Thread Subscriptions and click there. It will give you all the thread subscriptions you have. I have set my choices to subscribe to all threads that I post in. So they all show up there.
