The perfect place to exhibit your artistic stitching, especially if you have a scientific bent.

 

Deadline: Application: October 17, 2011 
Delivery of artwork: December 10–19, 2011

 

Compensation/Support: Exhibited works will be offered for sale at the price indicated on the entry form. If your work is not for sale, please list NFS on the entry form. There is no entry fee.

 

Requirements: Artists may submit up to three artworks for consideration. You may submit two views of each work as slides, photographs, or PDFs/jpgs.

Description: This exhibit will feature juried works that merge science with crocheting, knitting, or both. Pieces can be abstract, conceptual, or literal; big or small; dimensional or flat; worked in yarn or less traditional medium. 
Examples: interpretations of the Sierpinski triangle, fractals, the hyperbolic plane, or Lorenz manifold; biology, chemistry, mathematics, and physics themes; Ben Cuevas’s intricate knit skeleton; works at the Museum of Scientifically Accurate Fabric Brain Art; and Sonya Clark’s more conceptual Dendrite.
