Multi-Colored Baby Blanket

Recommended Posts

My Niece-in-law's baby shower is tomorrow and I just finished a blanket for their baby girl.

The stitch pattern is from "The Complete Photo Guide to Crochet" and is called Clever Blocks. I modified it a bit to include a fourth color.

It's an easy pattern to work, but uff-da! all those ends to weave in! :P

That is beautiful and looks very labor-intensive with so many color changes! You did such a wonderful job on it! Looks very professional. I know she will be thrilled!

Beautiful, love the colors! She'll use it for many years. Is that the basketweave pattern? Old eyes ain't as good as they were!

Not basket weave. The first row is 3dc, ch3. The subsequent rows are 3dc in the 3dc below (working over the chain 3 to make a solid fabric), ch3. Changing colors each row.

I think it took me almost as long to weave in the ends as it did to crochet the blanket! If it wasn't a baby blanket I think I would have used the yarn ends as fringe.

Very nice! I crochet over top of my ends as I work. This saves me TONS of time weaving threads. I hate weaving threads.
