Yes, they changed their sizing a couple of years ago. They added a size 7 between the G & H, I think. I don't have my hooks handy to check. That's why I prefer to buy hooks by the mm size.

I noticed that difference when I bought my Clover Soft Touch hooks earlier this year. Right now it has not made a difference. I bought the Clover Soft Touch hooks for the grip and not the sizes of the hooks. I just love my Clover Soft Touch hooks because I can crochet longer without my hands/fingers beginning to hurt.

wow! well that is good to know! I now have a inbetween g hook, and a normal g hook, both in my fav. clover! I thought they might have stamped it wrong, but then, looked at the hooks closer and could see a diff in the heads! That's nice to know, thanks everyone for the info! Appreciate it!

There have been a few changes in the sizing of Clover Soft Touch Hooks

-

The most recent was to change D, Item 1004, was changed from 3.00mm to 3.25mm (approx 2004)

-

More recently, 2009, they added item 1002 - B - 2.25mm and item 1032 designated 7 - measuring 4.5mm

The logic for these changes was to bring the Soft Touch D into line with the Craft Yarn Council Standards, and for the B & &, to expand the range of most commonly used sizes.

These changes were added to the Aluminum Hook Reference in my blog at:

http://wheatcarr.com/crochet/wheats-aluminum-crochet-hook-cross-reference.php

Probably best we do not get into my opinion about the change from 3.00 to 3.25 for the D - but I did go out and buy up (mostly at retail) every 3.00mm I could find <G> They are almost gone - which I consider to be a loss for the creative community.

Also probably best I not get on the Designer's should give MM not Letters and SWATCH or suffer the consequences <G>

Enjoy The Making
