colour changes in the round or in a spiral

passionfyre

Question

hi, i love to crochet amigurumi pieces, and i always crochet them in a spiral. my next project was going to be a doll, but i got really unhappy with it because the colour change was really obvious, and started on a different line @_@ i tried to do this again using jus a round, where I joined the end of the circle with slipstich, and the seam just looked...so bad...

so i was wondering, if there is a way to...either do this in the round, and hide the seam, or in a spiral, but with a cleaner colour change :)

attached is my 'crochet in the round' doll legs... another question, why does the seam go diagonally? xD is it my fault, or is it normal

Well I don't do 3d stuff but take a look at seamless and symetrical, maybe that would help as it works for my hats so there is no spiral on the join. The other link might help also. Mary
