Ok, The purse you see in one of my previous posts was the first of A FEW. It turned out I had "a purse season" and made some as gifts. I have only one left  :lol  Some are just the purses and some can be used as hooks or glasses cases.

Those pictures of Apak's purses do not do them justice.  I got the pretty blue one with the snowflake it is so pretty, and I got a shinny Polish penny in it.

Imanurse55 that is a very pretty blanket.

I am currently making my mom the Knit Your Cables Afghan. It is made of cabled squares mixed with garter stitched squares. I am making it in red and green squares (she wanted it for Christmas, but I started it way too late). I have several squares done and decided to steam block them so they'll be easier to seam together and I won't have to do it all at the end. I decided since I had them out I might as well take a few pictures.

P.S. The dark spots on a couple of squares is where my iron dripped water on them.

Randib82, your squares are really nice. Guess you've got a head start on next Christmas! Will all the garter square be green and all the cable squares red?

Thanks. Yes the garter squares are green and the cable squares are red. The pattern calls for all the squares to be the same color, but my mom wants a Christmas afghan and I wanted to learn how to do cables so this kills two birds with one stone.

Do you have a pattern for these?

I love the pattern for your quilt.  I guess they tell you how to put it together?  You could try and put the green in a circle with red in the middle of them to look like a wreath.  Very cool pattern.

Randib82, your suares are amazing! I can imagine how beautiful the afghan will be!

I don't have the pattern for purses, but they are really very easy. I start with only k1,p1 for a few rows, then rows of just k, and then again the same amount of rows (as at the beginning) of k1, p1. Then I fold the "not exactly rectangle" and sew along the sides.

Thank you. I am going to try to make myself a hook case following your recipe.

Here are the latest squares that I have done for my mom's afghan. I only have one cable square left and 5 garter stitch squares then I will be ready to start attaching them together.

Every year I have trouble trying to figure out what to give my SIL for Christmas.  This year I was over at Amazon and found this kit.   She loves beagles, so I am making her one.  Oh yeah this kit includes everything, including the needles and the stuffing.  This is going to be fun.  Oh and by the way, they even teach you how to cast on and everything.

I haven't seen those, but I did see some kits for knit your own cat. Can't wait to see how your doggy turns out.
