Baby afghan help?

So, I inherited a bunch of baby yarn and have been wanting to try baby blankets for a while, but I can't seem to find any patterns that suit what I'm looking for.

 

I mostly do amigurumi, so I am more than adept at single crochet, colorwork, double crochet, etc. I wanted to try out something a little more complicated than that stitch-wise, but not something too overwhelming, because I don't know very many stitches.

 

Any suggestions for good easy/intermediate baby blanket patterns? Thanks!

I agree with May. I love that pattern and it's simple and quick.

That is one of my favorite patterns also. I also love the sideways shell afghan and this hooded blanket. Use this shell pattern a lot in baby colors. My very favorite is the double puff shell afghan, I like to do it in a few shades of pastels. Mary

The one May said. I just recently did my first baby ghan too and used it. I LOVED it. I made 2 and a lapquare. It went really fast and looks so complicated but it's only 2 stitches, sc and dc. You can see the first one I did here: http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=129989

They're both really easy to learn and work up quickly. I was like you and did mostly amigurumi.
