Granny Star

Recommended Posts

The Granny Star pattern that my fellow crochetville members graciously tested for me is now up and ready on Ravelry:

http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/granny-star-ripple

And as a big thank you to the wonderful and helpful nature of this forum I have added a coupon code good for $1.00 off between now and 6/30/11 midnight eastern standard time. Coupon code: crochetville

I re-made the throw for pictures as I did not like how the colors turned out in the picture that was listed in the seeking testers thread. I chose colors to match the quilt on my guest bed and added a simple but sweet edging. The colors of the afghan remind me of home, Southwest Florida because of the colors of sun, sand and surf. Hope my visitors will enjoy it.

Your coupon code is not working tried three times to get the pattern.

I will go check the coupon code right now!

Just reset it, and tested it. It should be working now. So sorry for any inconvenience.

I bought but what is the finished size

There is no finished size listed, as you can use whatever yarn and hook that you wish. Also with the repeats you can make it as big or as small as you want.

I am working on a blended rainbow version on my hook right now, should be really pretty when done. I will post pics when finished.

As beautiful as this pattern is, I knew I had seen it before. I bought one just like it off Ravelry: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/foxs-granny-round-ripple-8-points I know it is difficult not to duplicate something that has been done before. She also has 9 and 10 point Granny Ripples and designed them a long time ago and eventually put them up for sale on Ravelry.

Since the internet has put thousands maybe millions of crocheters in touch, I imagine there will be many duplications found. Hopefully great minds just wind up thinking alike. I think they do as there is even another Granny Star Afghan here on Crochetville (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=88832&highlight=Granny+Star+Afghan) and also Ravelry ( http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/granny-star-afghan )

I am just glad you all have those great minds so I have beautiful things to crochet! I have a difficult time coming up with original ideas myself. Everytime I think I have one, a search winds up shoing me someone beat me to it! :D

To anyone seeing this, Debra Kay had also sent messages to me and another designer with a similar pattern. I have responded to her directly and cleared up the issue with her. There is no copyright issues here. Please feel free to contact me directly at thehookhound@yahoo.com with any questions regarding this matter.

Thank you, Carlinda

I have to say, I looked at all the granny star blankets...they are all unique, all different. One looks more like a star...like the starghan.....I love yours Carlinda, and also saw that you sell the blanket and tote as a set...just sorry that I never look at the "looking for testers" column !!!!!!
