My first felted stash bag

Recommended Posts

I made this stash bag using this pattern with several modifications.

First, I used a feltable vintage wool first sold in the late 60s or early 70s.

Second, I used an 8.0mm hook to crochet with rather than a 6.0mm hook.

Third, I made the straps about twice as long as you would get if you followed the directions.

Fourth, I gave the handles a wider base.

Fifth, I felted and dyed it at the same time using pink lemonade flavored Kool-Aid to update the color a bit.

If you want to read more about this adventure, I have blogged about it here, and here.

I never knew you could dye the yarn with Kool-Aid! Does it stay if you have to wash it or will the kool-Aid eventually fade?
