Tricky questions, because there are so many ways depending on how the blog owner sets it up.

 

In the instance of Ari's here, at the top, if you are logged into blogspot (you have an account to), you can click "follow" in the upper frame of the website. If the owner puts the followers widget on the page, you can use it to by clicking the follow button. Ari has that too.

 

Now, people who are wordpress bloggers or something else, won't do the follow link thing, so I keep a twitter account set up where people can follow there and my feed picks up new blog posts.

 

You can also subscribe via RSS feed if you have a reader that picks those up or want the updates mailed to you...

 

and I know I'm missing other ways too, these are just the most common.

On mine you can follow with just a gmail or google account instead of a blogspot account as well.
