My first doilies with hand dyed thread

Recommended Posts

I think I've finally gotten the hang of hand dyeing thread after a few not-so-great attempts. The oval one is called Pineapple Garden from a Leisure Arts book called Pineapple Doilies with some added flowers/butterflies and the fan shaped one is Fantasy Fan Doily from Bella Crochet.

Beautiful! You must share your experience in hand dying and how you made it work. I've tried a couple of times...but was never satisified with my results.

I'm still experimenting a little but when I'm sure of what I'm doing, I'm going to do a little write-up about how I did it and what has worked for me. I'll probably post it in the dyeing section under special crochet and fiber techniques for anyone who is interested.
