Stitch Dictionaries/Guides: Best Openwork Selection?

Hello,

I need some help from those of you who either have a large library of stitch dictionaries, or are at least semi-familiar with a lot of the stitch dictionaries out on the market.

I'm looking for a stitch dictionary with the best selection/the largest selection of openwork/lacy stitch patterns.

Of course, any comprehensive stitch directory will have other types of stitches as well (solid stitches and cable stitches and all of that) but which book would you recommend as having the best/biggest selection of lacy/openwork stitches?

Your options are:

#1. The Complete Book of Crochet Stitch Designs: 500 Classic & Original Patterns

#2. 280 Crochet Shell Patterns

#3. 365 Crochet Stitches a Year: Perpetual Calendar

#4. Please specify your title(s) of choice (along with Amazon link(s) if possible)

Thanks!!!

I don't have any of your #1-3, but I have several others, so I'll pick option #4;) In the books I have, I think the most open stitch patterns are in the Harmony Guides 300 Crochet Stitches http://www.amazon.com/300-Crochet-Stitches-Harmony-Guides/dp/1855856387/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1303269196&sr=8-1-spell and 220 More Crochet Stitches http://www.amazon.com/220-More-Crochet-Stitches-Harmony/dp/1855856395/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1303269196&sr=8-3-spell

300 Sttiches has 81 "openwork and lace patterns". 200 Sts doesnt have a section called "openwork", just "all-over patterns", but there are about 50 of those which i would say are lace/openwork. each volume also has motifs, some of which are lacy. 200 Sts has Irish crochet which includes several lacy mesh backgrounds. both also have edgings.

I'm not real familiar with the newer Interweave versions of the Harmony Guides, but I think they included all the st patterns from the older versions, so i would guess the lacy sts must be in the http://www.amazon.com/Harmony-Guides-Basic-Crochet-Stitches/dp/1596680814/ref=pd_sim_b_16

also i think all the sts are in this version http://www.amazon.com/Harmony-Guide-Crocheting-Techniques-Stitches/dp/0517880741/ref=pd_sim_b_20

Hope this helps!:hook

Rachel, I found that the perpetual calendar had more solid stitches than open-work. it did have some, just not as much as some of my other books. I have a couple of different books, and most have decent sections of open work or lacy stitches--different stitches in almost every book.

there's one with only shell stitches, many of which are open variations...found it...

280 Crochet Shell Patterns

Beyond that, I haven't done much stitch digging lately, so I hope this helps a bit.

Thanks! 280 Crochet Shell Patterns looks like the best bet so far...
