Materials:

Worsted Weight yarn in five different colors (Color A, B, C, D, and E)
Size H hook (5.00mm)
Yarn needle (to weave in ends)

Finish Size: 12”h x 12”w

Different Stitches:

Front Post Double Treble (FPDT)- Yarn over 3 times, insert hook from front into side of specified st going behind st and then back to the front of your work, yarn over, pull up a loop, [yarn over, pull thru 2 loops] Do this 4 times.


Directions:

Rnd 1: With Color A ch5, join with sl st to first chain to form ring, ch3, 2 dc in ring, [ch3, 3 dc in ring] Do this 3 times, ch3, join with sl st to top of beginning ch3.
(12dc, 4-ch3 spaces) (Beginning ch3 counts as dc)

Rnd 2: Sl st in each of the next 2 sts, sl st in next ch3 space, ch3, (2 dc, ch3, 3 dc) all in same ch3 space, [ch1, skip next 3 sts, (3 dc, ch3, 3 dc) all in next ch3 space] Do this 3 times, ch1, join with sl st to top of beginning ch3.
(24dc, 4-ch1 spaces, 4-ch3 spaces) (Beginning ch3 counts as dc)

Finish off Color A.

Note: The FPDT will be worked into the dc on Rnd 1. By the end of this Rnd there should be a FPDT work into each of the stitches on Rnd 1. Only work into Rnd 1 when specified.

Rnd 3: Join Color B with sl st to any ch3 space, ch3, 1 FPDT in dc before ch3 space on Rnd 1 (Right Below Ch3 space you joined in), (1 dc, ch3, 1 dc) all in same ch3 space, 1 FPDT in dc after ch3 space on Rnd 1, 1 dc in same ch3 space, [ch1, skip next 3 sts,1 dc in next ch1 space, 1 FPDT in next st on Rnd 1, 1 dc in same ch1 space, ch1, skip next 3 sts, 1 dc in next ch3 space, 1 FPDT in next st on Rnd 1, (1 dc, ch3, 1 dc) all in same ch3 space, 1 FPDT in next st on Rnd 1, 1 dc in same ch3 space] Do this 3 times, ch1, skip next 3 sts,1 dc in next ch1 space, 1 FPDT in next st on Rnd 1, 1 dc in same ch1 space, ch1, skip next 3 sts, join with sl st to top of beginning ch3.
(24dc, 12 FPDT, 8-ch1 spaces, 4-ch3 spaces) (Beginning ch3 counts as dc)

Rnd 4: Sl st in each of the next 2 sts, sl st in next ch3 space, ch3, (2 dc, ch3, 3 dc) all in same ch3 space, [Ch1, skip next 3 sts, 3 dc in next ch1 space, ch1, skip next 3 sts, 3 dc in next ch1 space, ch1, skip next 3 sts, (3 dc, ch3, 3 dc) all in next ch3 space] Do this 3 times, ch1, skip next 3 sts, 3 dc in next ch1 space, ch1, skip next 3 sts, 3 dc in next ch1 space, ch1, join with sl st to top of beginning ch3.
(48dc, 12-ch1 spaces, 4-ch3 spaces) (Beginning ch3 counts as dc)

Finish off Color B.

Note: The FPDT are worked into the FPDT on Rnd 3. Only work into Rnd 3 when specified. By the end of the Rnd all the FPDT on Rnd 3 should be worked into.

Rnd 5: Join Color C with sl st to any ch3 space, ch3, (2 dc, ch3, 3 dc) all in same ch3 space, ch1, skip next 3 sts, 1 FPDT in FPDT on Rnd 3 (Right below ch1 space), 2 dc in next ch1 space, ch1, skip next 3 sts, 1 dc in next ch1 space, 1 FPDT in next FPDT on Rnd 3 (Right below ch1 space), 1 dc in same ch1 space, ch1, skip next 3 sts, 2 dc in next ch1 space, 1 FPDT in next FPDT on Rnd 3 (Right below ch1 space), ch1, skip next 3 sts, (3 dc, ch3, 3 dc), [*ch1, skip next 3 sts, 1 FPDT in next FPDT on Rnd 3 (Right below ch1 space), 2 dc in next ch1 space, ch1, skip next 3 sts, 1 dc in next ch1 space, 1 FPDT in next FPDT on Rnd 3 (Right below ch1 space), 1 dc in same ch1 space, ch1, skip next 3 sts, 2 dc in next ch1 space, 1 FPDT in next FPDT on Rnd 3 (Right below ch1 space) ch1, skip next 3 sts*, (3 dc, ch3, 3 dc) all in next ch3 space] Do this 2 times, Repeat from * to * once, join with sl st to top of beginning ch3.
(48dc, 12 FPDT, 16-ch1 spaces, 4-ch3 spaces) (Beginning ch3 counts as dc)

Rnd 6: Sl st in each of the next 2 sts, sl st in next ch3 space, ch3, (2 dc, ch3, 3 dc) all in next ch3 space, {[ch1, skip next 3 sts, 3 dc in next ch1 space] Do this 4 times, ch1, skip next 3 sts, (3 dc, ch3, 3 dc) all in next ch3 space} Do this 3 times, [ch1, skip next 3 sts, 3 dc in next ch1 space] Do this 4 times, ch1, join with sl st to top of beginning ch3.
(72dc, 20-ch1 spaces, 4-ch3 spaces) (Beginning ch3 counts as dc)

Finish off Color C.

Note: Only work into Rnd 5 when specified too.

Finish off Color D.

Rnd 10: Sl st in each of the next 2 sts, sl st in next ch3 space, ch3, (2 dc, ch3, 3 dc) all in next ch3 space, {[ch1, skip next 3 sts, 3 dc in next ch1 space] Do this 8 times, ch1, skip next 3 sts, (3 dc, ch3, 3 dc) all in next ch3 space} Do this 3 times, [ch1, skip next 3 sts, 3 dc in next ch1 space] Do this 8 times, ch1, join with sl st to top of beginning ch3.
(120dc, 36-ch1 spaces, 4-ch3 spaces) (Beginning ch3 counts as dc)

Rnd 11: Ch1, 1 sc in same st as joining, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, (2 sc, ch2, 2 sc) all in next ch2 space, {1 sc in each of the next 3 sts, [1 sc in next ch1 space, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts] Do this 9 times, (2 sc, ch2, 2 sc) all in next ch3 space} Do this 3 times, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts, [1 sc in next ch1 space, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts] Do this 8 times, 1 sc in next ch1 space, join with sl st to first sc.
(172sc, 4-ch2 spaces)

Finish off and weave in ends.
