Our House Part Two

Hi ladies. I had another busy weekend and then worked today. Work was busy but not out of control. I have to work again tomorrow.

I think it will be a while before DD gets her new house organized. They are going to need more furniture too, as this house is a lot bigger than their old house. After my eye dr appointment on Saturday, I went and watched the grandkids while DD and dsil did some work at their old house. I had to look for the kids when I wanted to know what they were up to. The new house has five levels and four of those levels are kids bedrooms, living spaces or their playroom. Lots of room for them to spread out!

Joanne your projects are beautiful.

Dh just put burgers on the grill, guess I ought to go and set the table. Have a good evening.

Good morning, ladies. :)

Cindy ~ Oh, DD's new house sounds like a child's dream!  That must be a ton of stairs, though. Lol

Judy ~ No way could I sleep without the ac with that kind of humidity!  I hope you have some cooler fall weather soon.  Yesterday was 100* with a 106 heat index...it's 80* right now at 5:30 in the morning.  They cancelled the boy's soccer games on Sunday because of the heat!

Hi to the rest of the House, too. :manyheart

Good morning House!

Mary-oh my gosh!  It is HOT HOT HOT in your neck of the woods!  Will it be cooling down soon?  What's on your agenda for the week?

Joanne-Charlie is growing up super fast!  Before we know it, he will be in school too.  Your dd is busy as a bee, all of her babies are at a fun age, full of energy and active.  I kinda miss those days.  Your shawl and scarf are beautiful!  Love the Caron Cakes!

Judy-we are the complete opposite, dh opened the bedroom window last night, I was freezing.  It has dropped down to the high 20's here at night and in the early mornings.  We are all starting to see the trees change color and loose their leaves, fall is here in Colorado.  Such a pretty time of year.  Winter is my least favorite time, our winters last for almost 7 months, it is a looong time.

Cindy-wowza!  Your dd's house is huge!  5 levels?  How fun for the kids to have their own space, they can spread out.  I wish we had a bigger home, our kiddos have taken over the dining room table.  I had set up a desk for them in the living room, dd takes that one then ds takes over the table.  He likes spreading all of his work out...it drives me crazy.  Not sure where else to put him as our house is just super tiny..but am thinking of how to re-arrange.

Hello to the rest of the house!  Been super busy working on filling orders, product making, getting ready for the upcoming etsy class and the comfort ghans.  Will try to post more later.  hugs!

So....spent yesterday morning at the vet - Lucy had a growth on her hip that broke off at the skin and she needed antibiotics and the cone of shame....  We tried the inflatable collar on her but she could still reach her hip! TG Petsmart will give us a refund - we're good customers and this was expensive!

She's a smart girl and is already adapting very well to maneuvering with the cone - even s=chasing her ball in the yard! Good thing, because DH ran out just before the store closed last night to get the cone when nothing else worked!

Humid here today to beat the band....days like this I want to take a scissor to my hair!

Good morning. It's dark and gloomy and pouring down rain here. Thunder is rumbling, lightening is flashing and our dig is running around the yard like there's nothing going on. She's a mess! I hear it's going to be very hot and humid after the rain, but right now it's cool. I am sitting on the front porch listening to the rain, drinking coffee and reading a book. I have housework to do, but it's so dark that things look pretty clean! (That's my story and I'm sticking to it!). I'm not being totally unproductive though....I have the washer going. Guess I could send out the robot vacuum too. Now, if only they would invent a robot bathroom cleaner......

I haven't gotten out my fall decorations yet, but I might do that this afternoon. If I don't do it soon, it will be time to get out the snowmen!

Today is the first and only day in over two and a half weeks that I can actually stay home. Tomorrow I have a meeting, Friday I'm going out to lunch and this weekend I have to work. However, we probably should go visit mil tonight, so I'll still be out. Dh has to go to Menards after lunch to order a metal roof for the shed he is building and he asked if I wanted to come along. Umm, no, although, really, nothing is more exciting than twiddling my thumbs in Menards while Dh shops.........

Judy, that shawl is beautiful. And poor Lucy, hope she heals fast! And I know the feeling about hair when it's humid.

Lee Ann, DDs new house is really big, but I'm betting that apart from the Legos, the kids will set up shop in the dining area off the kitchen. Kids seem to prefer to be in the middle of everything. DD decided not to put a table in that rather small space, (the house has a beautiful dining room with windows on three sides, looking into the woods), so it holds their piano and stools at the kitchen counter.

Joanne, hope work settles down for you soon. We've been really busy too, and there's no end in sight. There's lots of new staff starting but it takes a minimum of six months to turn most new hires into anindependent critical care nurses.

Mary, hope things have settled down for you as well. You are always so busy! And yes, lots of stairs at DDs. Mostly half flights though.

Have a great day, ladies.

'Morning, everyone. :)

LeeAnn ~ Yay for orders! :yes   Will you all be making the comfort 'ghans with granny squares?  Yes, it's supposed to "cool down" by the weekend...all the way down to the mid 80's. Lol

Joanne ~ So glad you made it to craft club!  It's fun to share projects in person. :)

Judy ~ Your fall table setting is lovely.  And the shawl is gorgeous!  I'm intrigued by the color changes...does the length of each color stay fairly consistent? (Gee, I hope that makes sense ;) )  Poor Lucy!  I'm glad she's okay with the cone...they are so cumbersome.

Cindy ~ Enjoy your day at home!  I love the days where we don't have to go anywhere...few and far between!  But today is one of those and I plan to crochet all afternoon. :)

Hi to the rest of the House, too. :manyheart

Cindy...sometomes we all meed a day of doing nothing. And by nothing, i mean crafting or reading.....and no housework, laundry etc. i have to babysit the three boys sat since dd has to work. I am planning on getting up early, doing my necessary cleaning and laundry and then go to babysit. She has to work 11-7. I am planning on sunday as a day of knitting, crocheting, reading and football.

Mary. Hope your plans to crochet all adternoon worked out for you!!!!!

Dinner is finally ready, so off i go. Hi to everyone else!!!!

Thanks Cindy and Mary! And this is the first year I actually bought placements for the season - and picked up the flowers for the small vases, Got that idea from my French Country decor on Pinterest.

Cindy, do you have to give Sophie (?) a bath after playing in the mud? We had one GSD who - before we landscaped our yard - discovered the big mud hole that materialized after every rain storm - she would look toward the kitchen window as she jumped into it - and I had to laugh. There was nothing I could do to stop her, so.... :lol

Mary, I don't think the color changes are the sam length, from what I could tell, anyway. I just made sure I started the second cake I used for the shawl from the outside of the ball so the neutral would be neat to the red, and not more red....

Off I go for the night - hi to everyone else lurking!!

I did stop at the end of the first skien to see what it looked like - but decided to make it long so I can use it for times I need one in the house, so went for the longer look.

Top of the morning House!

Been lurking but hadn't been able to actually get on here to post.   :lol

Judy-love your new Caron Shawl!  I have tried crocheting with one of my Caron Cakes, I must say I really like the way the yarn feels, so decadent and soft.  Haven't picked up that particular project in over a week, the days are just flying by and I am holding on for dear life.

Joanne-your weekend is planned and ready to go!  A day of crocheting/knitting sounds like heaven!

Cindy-I am with you, the wet doggie smell is a bit much.  Since my ds is allergic to anything with hair/fur, we have never been able to have an indoor pet.  I am allergic to cats but a little pup sounds just so cute!  Perhaps when the kids are older and out of the house.

Mary-did you get your planned day off?  Sure hope so, any plans for the weekend?

Tomorrow we are having a HUGE Yardsale in front of the store, goodness!  Joyce  my landlady is hosting it.  I do not have anything to add but I will be manning both shops so that she can focus on it.  The entire hallway in the building is plum full, lots of large furniture as well as a few neat smaller ticket items.

In between all of that, I am still getting ready for the Etsy Class, have all of the materials printed, been practicing the Power Points, have walked thru it in my sleep..not sure that I am 100 % ready but I think I am as ready as I am going to get.

Project Comfort-the 2 afghans that we are making is  underway.  I finished the last needed granny square yesterday.  Two of my wonderful ladies are putting the squares together.  There is no way that I can squeeze that in.

My ds is going to homecoming tomorrow, I am to make the boutonniere and corsage..eeek!  Watched a short video on the how to...will be buying the flowers tonight so that I can give it a whirl.

Also filling lots of orders and one rush order..I am thinking that I need to change my policies in my online shop, it is tricky when folks wait until the last minute before their event to place an order.  Some Etsyans charge a Rush Order Fee, what are your thoughts on it ?  I stayed up late pouring soap then woke up super early to pour again as these custom soaps need to be in the mail by tomorrow morning..she ordered last night around 9:30 p.m....

Off to soapy land, hugs and warmest of wishes!

Hi House. :)  I hope everyone is having a good Friday!

LeeAnn ~ Oh my!  Can you possibly cram any more into your schedule?  :D   Just kidding, of course!  I admire you so much for all you do. :yes   As far as Etsy goes...maybe you can put something in your announcement and/or policies about rush orders.  Like...they need to contact you before placing the order and that you can't guarantee how long shipping will take once you mail the order.  The rush order fee is a great idea!  I've only had one request for a custom "rush" baby 'ghan and I turned down the order. I knew I could make it in time, but you never know about the post office!

I saw the implant dentist yesterday and I can now make an appt. with my dentist for the crowns.  All this started last October!  We're staying with the boys tomorrow while DD and Sil go to a wedding.

Time to take DH to his Friday appointment.  Have a wonderful day! :manyheart

Hi Ladies,

Mary, Two hours in traffic would be awful. I hope you had your crocheting with you. Hope your implant goes as planned. Have fun with the boys tomorrow.

LeeAnn, You will do great with your esty class. I'm glad are fall is just beginning. It's to early for us to have those kind of temps, for me at least. We are actually above normal for are fall temps. But it is suppose to cool down to the 60's next week. I think you should charge more for a rush order.

Joanne, Love your scarf and shawl. Have a fun time the grandsons tomorrow.

Judy, Maya being the oldest she feels the same way "getting individual attention". She is so independent and doesn't want me to help her. But she still wants her and grammy time. She asked me once this summer how come you hold Gerimiah so much. I told her he's a baby and he needs me and that when she was that size she got all the attention he gets. That made her happy. She was such a big help with Gerimiah and helping me. I told her over and over. When we shopping I rewarded her with something. She not knowing I was going to buy it ahead of time. Love your shawl. I like the way those Caron cakes are turning out. I like your fall table setting too. I hope Lucy is doing better.

Cindy, Your DD's house sounds like a mansion. To have that much room with a big family is wonderful.

The wedding was a beautiful event. It rained the day before and a little bit in the morning, but the sun came out and everything was great. My girlfriends daughter sent me a message thanking me for coming and how nice it was to see me. Are families grew up together. I was hoping I wouldn't have to miss it.

Yesterday hubby had a VA appt so we went early so we could go to my dads cemetery. Years ago we planted iris's behind his stone, but you couldn't see them, so moved them up in front of his stone. Then you couldn't read the stone. So we moved them to the back of the stone again. I will just plant some smaller plants in front. We also went to my ex's grave and picked up the urn off his grave. There is a big pine tree next to his stone marked to cut down so I took pictures of the stone and the tree with his stone in it just in case there is any damage.

Tomorrow is my great aunts memorial service. In the afternoon/evening we are going to the racetrack. My nephew and a friend will be running there cars. It going to be sunny and 70 a perfect day to go to the races.

I go to the specialist on monday, so I will let you know how that goes. Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

Hello there house!

I'm just making a quick stop today since I haven't gotten in all week.  It's been busy between patients and helping my parents...I've spent the week busting up tile from the kitchen floor!  I'm a bit on the sore side, lol.

Thank you all for the wonderful birthday wishes!  BUT, my birthday is not until January :think  I hope I didn't say something to confuse everyone, or maybe it's not correct on Crochetville...I'll have to check that out.

Gorgeous projects Judy and Joanne :manyheart

I hope you're all having a great week and I wish you all a wonderful weekend :)

HELLLLLLOOOOOOOO LADIES IN THE HOUSE!!!!!   Some of you may remember me, for those of you who don't---- I'm baccccck :)     Hope you all are well and have been well.  I had to take some time out from a lot of things for a bit-- I was running a bit too thin.   And now....... I run thin again!!  (I didn't end up getting married-that was a good thing.  He was an alcoholic and I never knew til he got down here and.,.....that's all he did.  He had to go  it was not a good thing for my daughter and I. )    I went back to college- Heading to get my bachelors in Dental Hygiene, still working full time and now my daughter is 15 and still playing softball like a crazy girl!!    I did take up knitting there at a point,  I am in love with it- but still crochet as well.   Not much time to do either anymore with all my homework UUUUUGGGHH~!!   But I will make it !

I see there are like 974 pages since I was prob in here last.......pretty sure I will never catch up--- but just wanted to say hello and look forward to catching up!!!

Kiyo! Good to see you again. Although I'm sorry that your relationship didn't work out, it sounds like it was for the best. I like knitting a lot too, although I'm really slow at it. I crochet more, because I get things finished a lot faster, but in some ways I find knitting more relaxing.

Marisa, I was confused. My birthday is in January, and I was fairly sure yours was too, but when I saw the happy birthday wishes,mi assumed that I was imagining things.

It was a very quiet day at work today. Hopefully more of the same tomorrow.

DD texted to say that the realtor had an open house at their old house today that was very well attended. The realtor thinks they will get at least one offer today, maybe more. Selling that house will free them up to concentrate on the new house. Hopefully it sells fast.

Pizza is here....time for dinner. Have a great evening.

Hi house! We're at dd's with the boys and I'm on my phone - so just a quick post.

Hi Kiyo! You sound great! Way to go on going back to school:). Hugs to you and your Dd.

Marisa - Maybe we'll start celebrating "half birthdays." Lol. And you got to be first! ;)

Cindy - Keeping fingers crossed for Dd and Sil! Our DD's realtor said she may have a contract coming in by Monday...sure hope so.

Mary, DD just called. The sign on their house went up yesterday, and today's open house got them several offers. The best one was $7,000 over asking price, and the asking price was actually $5000 more than the realtor originally suggested. (I think they thought this would give them a bit of negotiating room.) They accepted that offer, and now have to wait to see if the bank will approve the loan. The potential buyers have a large down payment, so hopefully that will help.
