Our House Part Two

Hi Ladies,

Judy, Mr. Eagle is stunning! I'm wanting to go get a perm or something done to my hair. I have a lot of body and natural waves but I'm not liking in this short hair cut.

Joanne, DD is hoping to do a bathroom and possible a kitchen cupboard replacement soon.

Cindy, I would use the more expensive back splash. Have a nice time with the girls.

Mary, When I don't take my crochet bag is when I want. So I don't leave it home to often.

Michelle, Sorry about your past experiences with dentist. Good luck with the next step.

LeeAnn, Nice that the kids were home and your sisters family came for a visit to. Yes Maya is on summer break. It runs from June 10th to Sept. 6th.

I sure do miss seeing messages from Linda. I'm still improving. I have an appointment Sept. 26 with the specialist. It's quite humid out right now and only going to get hotter this week. I don't go out in it if I can help it. Sometimes Maya doesn't understand. Poor girl has heard grandma say I can't do that more than she should have to. Next summer will be better. I did teach her how to chain. She does well with it but don't stick with it for long. Hopefully one day she will. The library program is over for the summer. Yesterday we lost my great aunt. She was 96. She had a massive stroke on saturday. I also lost a friend to cancer sunday.

Hope everyone has a great week and a cool one.

Hi House.  :)

Joanne ~ So glad you were able to go to craft club last night!  How is Charlie's blanket coming along?

Judy ~ Have you been able to work on Mr. Eagle again? Yup! 70/150  :D  But the ends are yelling at me to weave them in.... :lol

Marlene and Michelle ~ Thinking of you both and hope things are going well. :manyheart

Hi to the rest of the House, too!

The boys were both so cute yesterday...no arguing at all! :lol  Zach is at that age where he knows what he's saying, but doesn't always have the right words.  "Gammy, I made that all by my own"  for an example.  Lol  DD kept a journal of "Lukeisms" and has one for Zach, too. :) That's a wonderful idea!

102* forecasted for today.  Can't wait!

Hi Ladies,

Judy, Mr. Eagle is stunning! I'm wanting to go get a perm or something done to my hair. I have a lot of body and natural waves but I'm not liking in this short hair cut. When my hair is very short and it's not humid, I lose my curls!

Joanne, DD is hoping to do a bathroom and possible a kitchen cupboard replacement soon.

Cindy, I would use the more expensive back splash. Have a nice time with the girls.

I sure do miss seeing messages from Linda. I do too...I saw a FB post from her from when I posted the profile pic of my pups last year - and when I use my phone to access Crochetville I come up with her wonderful, upbeat posts from last November around Thanksgiving...I miss her....

I'm still improving. I have an appointment Sept. 26 with the specialist. It's quite humid out right now and only going to get hotter this week. I don't go out in it if I can help it. Hope everyone has a great week and a cool one.

My goddaughter's mom, Teri,  said her MIL would like to learn how to crochet. Teri's mom has a full time caregiver who also crochets - and BEAUTIFULLY - so I told her between the two of us we can get her MIL started. You Tube lessons are something I would recommend too, if she's a visual learner as I am.

'nite, all....

I taught myself crocheting and knitting with the you tube videos. Im a visual learner too!

Marlene. Sorry for the losses. Like judy said, the older we get, the more friends amd family we lose. I'm glad you are doing well

Mary. What a great idea your dd has to make journals :-). The knitted blanket for Charlie is coming along nicely. I worked on it at craft club. Tonight i will probably crochet and then maybe do a few rows on the blanket

Hope Cindy is having a great time !

Hi to leeann and michelle!!!

Have a great night! Watching the Yankees/Mets "subway series " now. Its just about ready to start!

Marlene ~ Hi!  I'm so glad you're seeing improvement!  I agree with the you tube idea.  Maya will pick it up in no time. :yes So sorry for the loss of your great aunt and your friend. :hug

Judy ~ Oh, those pesky ends! :lol   I'm trying to stop and weave ends every 5 rows, but it's hard to stop crocheting when you're on a roll. ;)

I need to look back at posts, but I think Michelle's oral surgery was happening today.

Sending lots of hugs and good wishes to you, Michelle! :hug   :manyheart

Morning peeps.

Michelle....thinking of you today! :hug

Joanne....it always seems like there's yet another project that needs doing!

Mary, my problem with the ends is that it takes a long time to do a batch of them and I would rather do mindless crochet downstairs and not sequestered in my sitting room, which is where the graph sits on the desk. The difficulty with transporting the ghan downstairs: all the balls and skien of yarn that are attached - and which I don't want to cut off and restart! :P

We had such low humidity and cool temps we slept with the windows open last night - and I was the first one awake this morning! Even the dogs liked the fresh air! It's a respite before the humidity and high temps return.

Have a great day my friends. :manyheart

Good morning ladies. I'm at home again. We had a great time and we are already talking about next year. I'm so glad I didn't have to work today. I did not get much sleep this weekend, and I am dragging today. I got close to 11 hours of sleep last night though.

Michelle, hope all goes well today.

Heat and humidity are coming back here too, Judy. We were able to sleep well with the windows open last night though.

I still feel very tired, but I need to get a few things done around here today, so I'd best get going.

Have a great day, ladies.

Hello House!

As usual it seems like it takes me forever to get in here and write and hit "Post".  Seems like the days/weeks are flying by at such a speed that at times I feel just sad.  I really want to enjoy the days but goodness!

Michelle-thinking of you and hoping that your dental appointment went well.  Hugs!

Joanne-bet you will get the new afghan done soon, a never ending granny always sounds perfect! My mother in-law makes about 20 a year..she loves them!

Cindy-your weekend getaway sounded like heaven!  Glad that you slept 11 hours, I find that I am having a difficult time sleeping...usually I can fall asleep quickly but this summer I have been staying up way too late.

Judy-Mr. Eagle looks great!  Your lines are impeccable!  Good work my friend!

Mary-your grands sure are adorable, what projects are you working on?

Marlene-so glad to hear that you are feeling better and better every day.  Maya will learn how to crochet in no time.  My dd knows how and is so good at it but doesn't make time for it...I am hoping that when she gets older she will pick it up again.

Our ds is back home..whew!  It has been fun spending time with him, our dd will be home for good this Friday.  Then it will be on to the school year.  Still lots to do with registering her and also making sure that ds's scholarships have been applied to him.  Then the Back to School shopping, I should have started earlier but with both of them being gone it was difficult.  As they get older they have specific likes/dislikes.

Keeping busy making new product and filling orders.no complaints. Customers just walked in,will try to be back soon, hugs!

Cindy, sleeping that long tells me you had a great time!!

LeeAnn, thanks for the ghan compliments. I had so much to watch over downstairs that I ended up bringing Mr.Eagle downstairs, consolidating all the attacked yarn into one big shopping bag. All I've had time to do so far is weave in the ends - but they are all finished now, so I still might get to add more stitches. Not having 6 pages of graph to keep together - only three - helps make it more portable.

When does school start out there? Out here it's right after Labor Day. I have a friend in GA whose kids went back about a week ago! Schools must be air conditioned...lol! Not up here.

Later, gators.

BTW - I just read a book by Carolyn Brown called Ladies Room - I love her wit and writing style - and it's cheap! I just started another by her....wholesome and funny in spots. Different.

Hi Ladies,

Michelle, I hope after your extractions yesterday you are doing better today.

Cindy, Sounds like you had a great time with sleeping that many hours.

Hi to the rest of the house. I went grocery shopping today. I went to Meijer's for most of it, then to Walmart and Walgreen's for some things. I stopped for lunch too. I have to say I am not wore out. Such a good sign. I took my meter with me that reads my oxygen and heart rate and my numbers stayed up. Another good sign my heart is healing. Tomorrow we are going to DD's for the weekend. Hope everyone has a good rest of the week.

Hi ladies. Just got home from a busy day at work. It's about 95 degrees here and very humid. I'm grateful for air conditioning!

Marlene, you must be doing well. I'm tired just reading about all the stores you went to! Have fun at DDs place.

Judy, I will have to look up that author. I've been making my way through the Peter a Diamond books by Peter Lovesey. They are police procedurals and are very well written. I don't usually read this type of book, but a friend talked me into trying them, and I was surprised that I liked them.

LeeAnn, this is a busy time of year for kids going back to school. looking back, it seems so long ago.

Have a great rest of the day, ladies.

Not sure if I mentioned a book a friend here lent me: When the Cypress Whispers by Yvette Corporon   It's a greek family at the center of it - I really liked it - though, my own opinion: I would have changed the last chapter. I felt like I was eavesdropping on my Greek in laws! It was pretty serious....when you feel for characters you can say the writer did a good job.

Have a good one, my friends!

Happy Friday House!

Boy am I glad the weekend is almost here!

Mary-Summer is hot hot hot in your neck of the woods!  We are already cooling down here in Southern Colorado, the long winter months will be here soon. :cry

Joanne-Jali is so sweet!  I bet your dd was so happy to get out and about, babies are such a blessing but it is nice to catch a break.

Judy-the new book sounds great!  I love reading, trying to take a few minutes during the day to sneak a few pages in.  I have the kindle app on my phone, love that it's so portable.

Cindy-are you enjoying your days off?  I was thinking of you the other morning as I was sweeping the kitchen..thought I need to get a little vacuum to do it for me.   :lol

Nothing too exciting going on here, we had Craft Night last night, feels like I never left the shop.  It's a good thing that I love being here.  Our dd starts school on the 24th, she is coming home today.. :cheer   It will be nice having both of my kiddos home.

Off to sneak a bit of yarn play in.  hugs and warmest of wishes!

Another quick "Hi" from me. :)   DD called about 8 this a.m. Their house is being shown 3 times today so she brought the boys over about 9.  She and SIL went to run some errands and will be back here for the afternoon.  They've averaged one showing per day and have had more than one "repeat" visit, so they're very pleased!

LeeAnn ~ Aww, so glad the kids are home for a while!  :)

Marlene ~ Enjoy your weekend at DD's. :yes

I hope everyone is having a good Saturday. :manyheart

Hi House. :)   We ran a couple of errands this a.m. and now we're staying in out of this heat!  Heat index - 106*

Judy and Joanne ~ I'm glad your weather is cooler and pleasant enough to spend time outside. :yes

I've started the border on a baby 'ghan and need to frog and go down a hook size.  I usually do that, but thought this one would be okay for some reason. :lol

Have a good day, everyone! :manyheart

Mary, looking forward to seeing a picture of the blanket!

Worked on Eagle for a bit - then got caught up on the Yankees ball game and the drama around Alex Rodriguez...  I've been a fan of the NY Yankees since I was about 12 and it's never been dull!

Have a good night my friends
