Hi again.  :)   It's a very cold and windy day here...not nearly as cold as a lot of you are having though.  We ran errands this morning and I have a big pot of veggie soup on.

I finished a scarf and joined some little squares - about 1/4 of them!

Stay warm, everyone and have a good evening. ♥♥♥

Good evening housemates :hug

Thanks for the birthday wishes and happy belated to Cindy :birthday since I wasn't here yesterday.  And happy birthday to the house thread as well.  Julie's is coming up in a couple days, I wonder she's doing!

We went out on Saturday night being troopers through the snow :lol  It was ugly out, but we had fun anyways!  Yesterday was a complete day of relaxing inside ALL day.  I did laundry this morning and now am at work.  Meeting Steph and friends out in about an hour for wings and my birthday of course.  My parents sent me some beautiful flowers today :flower  It's super cold....looking at -10 tonight prior to windchill with a high of 4 tomorrow and another low of -10 :wcold  You know it's bad when it's even too cold for me!!

I hope all is well and I'll see you tomorrow!

Hmmmm....Mary, maybe I should work on quilt ghans again....I have patterns for shawls that require my attention to crochet. I'm just not in the mood for that, though. Or maybe use some of those cute patterns I have for baby ghans.

Dunno.....

Marisa, that's how I've felt about the cold. But when it rose to about 12 degrees I was dealing with it just fine....scary how you can adapt to such a new normal! Enjoy your birthday celebration!

DD texted and said the news said they have had 41" of snow this month. She wondered when was the last time I seen that much snow. In January of 1978 we had a blizzard and in April we had an ice storm. In the 80's sometime we had a winter with a lot of snow. But growing up we always got that much or more and it started snowing in october. Hope everyone is staying warm. Good night!

Hi, peeps!

Just checked the outside thermometer and it's 16 degrees. Oh, well....at least the sun is out. Yesterday we had a nice break during the morning when it got up into the high 40's....that last long enough to melt a lot of stuff and turn it into ice overnight.

Cindy I can't imagine seeing as much snow as you've had!

Good afternoon housemates :hi

I started this post a while ago!  But, I just spent about 2 hours on facetime with my nephews and niece.  They had a busy day yesterday and didn't have a chance to call for my birthday, but my bro and sil text me last night.  We had a good night out at wings.  I have a patient coming in at 4 and then I'm heading to the gym for the 5:00 zumba class :)  Other than that, not much going on here today.

On my way to the office today my car said it was 5 degrees, which is the high so it's all downhill from here! lol  For some reason it didn't feel bad though....maybe because the sun was shining?

I hope you're all having a great day :hug

Hi House. :)   It's only in the 20's here with a strong wind...brrr!

Thank you, Marisa!

DH took me out to brunch for my birthday.  Oh my, it was the best food...and the second brunch for me in 3 days. :blush  Crab cakes on a bed of lightly sauteed baby spinach with a perfect poached egg on top!

Better get busy again.  I hope everyone is having a good day. :manyheart

Hi, everyone.  Sorry to MIA over the weekend.  Haven't been feeling all that good.  I think I've just gotten too cold at work, because I haven't been able to get warm.

:birthday   Happy belated birthday, Cindy & Marisa!   :cake

:birthday  Happy Birthday, Mary!   :bday

I woke up this morning and knew it was cloudy from the way the room looked.  Imagine my shock when I took Sweet Pea for a walk and it was snowing!  And it has been snowing all day long.  We have at least 2 inches on the ground now and no signs of it stopping.  I was just out and one of the residents was having a hard time trying to get up the slight rise into the parking lot.  Oof!

Good morning!

We are going to get to a balmy low 30's today- but of course high of about 20 tomorrow when I'm at the game! LOL

Here's a pic of the Sunny Spread that I finally finished this week on my 'snow days'! Started in Aug 2012 and it's finally done-!

Joanne, the Sunny Spread is gorgeous!   :clap

I've been working at doing the quilting on Rosie's John's quilt.  Yuck.  It is so big and unwieldy to work with that it's giving my shoulders fits.  I'm a little over 2/3 done I think.  Not my neatest quilting, but it's just so hard to work with it's the best I can do on this one.  Still looks nice from a distance.  And it will be warm.

Stay safe everyone.  :hug

Hi Ladies,

It's cold here! One more day and it will warm up. I feel like a broken record. Today we decorated the hall for Valentine's. Tomorrow we have to go back and do the tables and Suna will do the arch. I talked to my Mom a bit ago. Today  is her birthday.

Linda, Hope your feeling better soon. I just seen on the news about Georgia getting snow. We could get some ice tonight.

Stay warm everyone!

Still on my phone. So far I've reset the modem, erased all cookies, erased my history and tried three different browsers to get on the forum. It's got to be our home network because I have no problems on my phone using the 3G.

We've had even more snow this past weekend. We are up to 84 inches so far this winter. Nothing is melting either since it is so cold. I'm sort of getting the hang of typing on the phone but it's harder than my iPad or computer

Happy birthday Mary

Joanne your sunny spread is lovely

Oh, man, is it ever a mess outside.  And they are saying that everything will freeze tonight with black ice in addition to frozen snow and slush.  Many roads were so bad that some students were stuck at school, and many people were abandoning their cars and opting to walk.  Drive times were horrible with some roads being so slow that it took 3-4 hours to go just a couple of miles.  We are not set up for this.  It may not melt off and we have clear roads until Thursday when it will finally get into the 40s.

Hi House. :)  Another early morning for me, but the little darlings woke me up...they decided to play at 3:30!  Thanks to all of you for the birthday wishes. :manyheart   It was a really nice day.

Linda ~ Wow!  The ice is so scary - stay safe. :hug    Will your place of work be open?  I know you'll be glad to finish the quilt...please share a picture if you can. :yes

Cindy ~ We've missed you!  I've been able to log in to the 'Ville, but have been "mysteriously" logged out a few times lately.  Don't know what that's about!  I hope you get things figured out soon. :)

Marlene ~ I hope it warms up for you soon.  (Here, too! :lol

Hi to everyone I've missed this morning.♥♥♥

DH has an appt. downtown with an occupational therapist today.  His eye specialist recommended we go just to see if they have any other tips or ideas for adjusting to the vision loss.  Hopefully, we'll learn some new things!

Good morning

It snowed and is still snowing and bitterly cold out. Not a lot of snow it enough to make it annoying if you know what I mean.

One of my friends from cc posted on fb that her BIL left work at around noon yesterday in Atlanta and at 9:30 still wasn't home. Linda is right the south doesn't know how to handle snow.

I'm more than ready for spring. I have noticed it is staying light out later in the day now so at least we r heading on the right direction.

Hope you all have a good day.

Good morning.  Got up a little bit ago so I could watch the news.  I'm guessing we've got about 3" of snow on the ground, which is a huge amount for Georgia.  They were just showing a blurb on TV about a guy who left work at noon yesterday and after 14-15 hours on the road, abandoned his car on the edge and walked the last 11 miles home.  Traffic is basically at a standstill except for occasional 4-wheel drive vehicles.  Everywhere the roads are littered with abandoned cars and/or wrecked cars.  There are lines of semis at a total standstill where ever there is even the slightest hill.  All the interstates are parking lots.  They are telling everyone to stay home until things start to clear off later today and/or tomorrow.  All government agencies are closed and all public and private schools are closed for most of Georgia.  They are saying this is worse than the storm that shut things down in 1982.  I haven't heard anything about work today.  I'm not sure if I can make it up the little hill here to get there even if we're open.  I doubt there will be any customers out in any case.  Time will tell later.  What a mess!!!  Our current highs are our normal lows for this time of year.   :reyes   I'm not sure how well I remember how to drive in this after 12 years down here.  I know it's a pathetic amount for up North, but not for down here.  Several schools had 100s of kids sleeping at the school overnight, because by the time school closed it was too late to get them home safely.

Take care everyone.

Well, it's 12* and not supposed to get above 29* this afternoon.  Quite a few of my neighbors didn't make it home last night, or at least their cars didn't.  Wind at 10 mph yields a wind chill of somewhere between -4* and 0*.  Governor has declared a state of emergency for the state.  They are recommending no travel.
