Good morning

Linda- Hope Rosie had a wonderful birthday! I'm sure she loved the red material you got her. The reuben sandwich sounds delicious- haven't had one of those in years!!! It's cold here too--winter is around the corner...but thankfully, we've got heat and lots of blankets here! It's also probably one of the reasons I can't shake this darn cold. Going to rest and take it easy this weekend- with a few naps I think. Sleep seemed to help on Wed when I stayed home...and probably shouldn't have rushed back to work! But with lots of rest this weekend, I should be good to go!

Judy- I have a special place in my heart for Boston- I really love the city---and since my DD lives there it's even more special. My DH can't root for the Boston teams, no matter what---but as long as my teams are going up against them, I can...well....except for the Pats! LOL

Cindy- Your DD must be getting so excited...less than a week till she has her own 'first place' I remember how excited I was when I moved out and had my own first place. Good luck to her!

Sherry- Sorry it's been such a tough week! I can surely relate to those!!!  Hope you get in some relaxation this weekend! How's your knee doing?

Marisa- Missing you around here--hope all is well--and that you are just super busy--which is probably the case!

Off to pour a cup of coffee and get the day started.  Also need to plan what I'm bringing to Boston at the end of the week so I don't wear those clothes during the week! LOL

Hi House.  'Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far. :)

Marlene ~ I'm so glad DH's surgery went well. :hug   I hope you're able to get some rest with all that's going on. :manyheart

Joanne ~ Feel better! :hug

Hi to the rest of the house, too!

The last three days have been full of good and bad things.  We had Zach for 2 days and 1 night because DD, her DH and Luke all had some kind of stomach virus.  It wasn't food poisoning, because none of them had eaten the same things...thankfully they're all better now. :yes   Yesterday and today we are emptying the storage building and bringing everything here for the estate sale Nov 8th and 9th.  Not looking forward to this, but we'll get through it!

I barely started the edging on the hexagon - it's going to be very simple, though.  A contrasting color just doesn't look right to me, so will use the Linen that each hex already has for the final round. :)

Have a good day, everyone! ♥♥♥

Hi Ladies,

Sherry, Happy Anniversary! Hope you have a great weekend to kind make up for the rough week.

Linda, It's cold here to. Not ready for this yet. Happy Birthday to Rosie! I to think the red material was a nice gift.

Judy, Mama knows best.

Mary, Glad everyone is feeling better and hope you don't get it to. Good luck with moving everything from storage. And the estate sale in two weeks. The linen sounds like it's the perfect match.

I posted Thursday night but I guess it's floating around in cyber space some where. Were home now. We got home late last night. Hubby gave me a hard time this morning because he left a donut here before surgery and he thinks it's okay to have it with his coffee. I finally told him if your not going to follow the directions then I will take him back to the hospital and drop him off. I don't remember it being like this the last time. I guess he must not be hurting enough as the last test he was in a lot of pain. I'm going to get rid of it as I won't eat it. He sleeping right now so I'm going to head to the shower. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Marlene, that's good you're home...and men! What bad patients they can be!

Mary, using the same color for the border sounds perfect to me. Good idea to try and shield Zack from the germs!

Have a good night, my friends :hug

Good Evening all!!!  Thanks for the anniversary wishes.  We had a great dinner and came home and relaxed.  Attended a birthday party for a 2 year old today.  It was fun, took one GS (the oldest one was in trouble and didn't get to go).  It's rained a lot today, they even delayed the OU game because of the weather.

Marlene - glad DH is doing well and remind him again that you can take him back and drop him off if he doesn't follow instructions.

Joanne - hope you're feeling better and getting lots of rest.  Our weather is going to get cold this week, not looking forward to it.  My knee is doing well.  I still ride my recumbent bike (almost every day).  It's still probably not as straight as the dr wants, but I don't think it ever will be perfectly straight since it was not able to stretch out for so many years.  I'm happy with it though.  Will see how the cold weather affects it.

Judy - hope you've had a good weekend.

Mary - sorry you have so much more to go through but soon it will all be done.

Well, I'm going to go make some more squares for that little man's afghan.  Have a great evening all!  Hugs to all of you!

Good morning--nearly afternoon- LOL

Heading over to babysit for the boys for the afternoon. Glad it's a nice fall crisp day out- so we should be able to get a nice walk in. When DD gets back home, we're going to finalize plans for Boston next weekend!!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Hello ladies, it's a pretty fall day here, cool and sunny, at least at the moment.

Sherry, happy anniversary. It's our anniversary today, and believe it or not, I'm the one who forgot. We already did our celebrating while we were on vacation though.

Joanne, have a good time with the boys. Hope you are feeling better.

Both ds and dd close on their houses this week. Ds is moving next weekend. Dd has given the current owners an extra week to move out and she plans to have new carpet installed before she moves in. She also has plans to paint a few rooms, so she will be here for several weeks yet.

I'm spending a lazy day here, knitting, reading and napping. I'm going to go for a walk in a few minutes, and then I plan to work some more on a knit scarf.

Hi Ladies,

Cindy, Happy Anniversary! It was a nice fall day today.

Joanne, I'm sure you had a nice time with the boys.

Hubby has been much better at not wanting to eat what he's not suppose to. Sherry, I did tell him if he doesn't follow the rules and he has to have something done because of it. I will take him and drop him off and come back home. He told not to be crazy. I told him don't pull no crazy stuff. It's been a long time since he has been able to upset me, but I think the whole week caught up with me yesterday.

Hopefully we have good weather for Halloween. If it doesn't rain then were going to go to Maya's and go trick or treating with her. I have a dentist appt on Halloween also. So we would go from there.

I called my other sister tonight and had a nice visit with her. She works the afternoon shift plus over time so I don't get a chance to talk to her often and she's been on my mind.

Hope everyone has a nice Monday!

Good morning!

Cindy- Belated Happy Anniversary! I was working on a knit scarf yesterday evening as well.

Marlene- Glad that DH is listening--or at least listening as well as men do. LOL  Hoping for good weather here on Halloween as well. I can't wait to go 'trick or treating' with the little guys!!

Had a fun afternoon with the boys. When I got there Ryan was napping, but Robbie was up so had some nice one on one time with him. Then after Ryan was up for a bit, Robbie fell asleep so Ryan and I went outside to play for a bit. After DD came home, we all went for a nice long walk. It was a great day!

Hope you all had a good weekend. Off I go to get ready!

Happy Belated Anniversary to Sherry and Cindy! :manyheart

Marlene ~ Oh, I've found myself having a hard time "not losing it" with DH once in a while, too.  They sure can be stubborn, can't they? :yes   I hope his recuperation goes smoothly. :hug

Hi to the rest of the House, too.  I've got to leave now to stay with the little guys until about 2.  Have a good day! ♥♥♥

Hi Ladies,

Joanne, Your day with the boys sounds perfect. Fingers crossed for a nice Halloween for them.

Mary, I'm sure you had a nice visit with the grandsons today.

Cindy, Hope your day was busy at work so it went by quickly.

Today I've been working on the hat for Maya's dad. I've frogged a few rows and watched the videos so I could refresh my mind and now what I was doing. But I sent a note off to the designer as she wants you to skip 6 stitches, then go back and work 2 of them, but never says in that row or the next about working the other 4 your skipped. And she quit chaining 3 after you slst tog. So I asked about that to. Did get some laundry done.

I got a letter in the mail from a case review specialist for my cervical traction unit. The insurance company said it was covered 100% so I don't know why I have to go through this. I called them and they want a copy of my prescription so I'm going to send that and a copy of my mri results. I told them I've already received it. Tomorrow i'm going to call the insurance company about it.

Hope everyone has a nice Tuesday.

Hi all,

Good luck Marlene- If insurance has already approved it, I would think you would have the cervical traction unit by now ! How frustrating!!! Good luck with the hat, and hope the designer gets back to you.

I didn't leave work till 5:45, so no craft club for me tonight- traffic was a bear and it took me an hour to get home. Going to settle in and watch the voice and knit some more on the scarf. Two more days till I'm off!!! :)

'Afternoon, all. :waving

Marlene ~ How is the patient doing?  I hope you get the traction unit issue resolved soon!  The hat pattern sounds complicated - and like there may be mistakes along the way?

Joanne ~ Oh, you must be so excited about taking some vacation time!  I hope the weather cooperates and that you have a wonderful trip!

Sherry ~ Looking forward to seeing the kids' afghans!

Hi to the rest of Our House, too! :manyheart

DH is out to lunch with some friends and it's sure quiet around here. :lol   I have to admit I miss having some me time, but probably not as much as DH misses driving and going to work...things are going pretty well, though!

Have a great afternoon!

Hello house! Had a great 2 days at work, and now I have 2 days off. Ds is closing on his house on Thursday, and plans to move this weekend. He has friends helping with the move, but I suspect I will be recruited to help him pack. Dd closes on Thursday as well, but she intends to get new carpeting installed and do some painting before she moves in.

Marlene, is your dh doing okay? Hope you get the traction unit soon.

Mary, I kind of know what you mean about alone time, my dh works at home, so I rarely have alone time.

HI all

One more day of work then I'm off. It'll be a long day, too...but I can deal with it since I don't go back till the 11th!!!

I love alone time-but don't get too much of it. DH is usually home before me --but sometimes on the weekend, he'll go out for a while and I have the house to myself. I do enjoy the solitude sometimes!

Cindy- Good luck to DS and DD with their closings and hope they both go smoothly!! They both must be very excited. Enjoy your 2 days off and yes, your DS will probably want some help with the packing! LOL

Mary- Did you enjoy your 'me' time? Did you get anymore done on the hexaghan?

Hi to Linda, Judy, Sherry, Val, Marlene, Marisa, Trish- and the rest of the house --

Hi Ladies,

I enjoy my alone time to. I get Mondays when DH goes to work. DH is doing good. He is a snacker and likes his sweets and it is bothering him that he can't have any cookies. He does lots of fruit which he is eating, but not the same.

The thing is I already have the traction unit. They sent it to me before getting paid for it. I haven't even opened the box. Must of been hine sight. I called the insurance company then called the company who sent it to me and told them to fax the insurance company the prescription. The lady who I dealt with wasn't there today. So tomorrow I need to call and see if she is in and follows through or I'll have to go to town and fax my copy.

Joanne, Hope you have a great vacation!

Cindy, Enjoy your time off. Best wishes for DS and DD on the closing on there houses.

Hi to the rest of the house. Hope everyone has a great Wednesday!

'morning, peeps!

About the alone time: I have a friend who is a home health care aid for a seriously ill patient who is declining right now... and her husband is presently recupperating from major surgery. He's doing OK, but she has no alone time either, so I suggested she "run away" for a half hour or so to sit by herself somewhere outside if it's not cold or go to our local library (she's a reader) to decompress before going home to her next "job". I hope she does it....

Anywho....I'm having trouble finding much of that, too.....I may have to invent something for me to do :lol

Have a good day my friends :hug  :hug :hug

Good morning. Another gloomy day here, seems like we haven't had much sun this fall. At least it's not raining. I am working on my last load load of laundry at the moment, ( well, strictly speaking, the washer is working, I'm only waiting), and when that's finished, I have a bunch of errands to run. If the weather holds up, I'll be doing more lawn and garden cleanup when I get back home.

I am working on a couple of knit scarves at the moment. One is about 5 1/2 feet long already, so it should be done soon. It's fingering weight yarn though, so it grows slowly. The other is about 3 feet long, but at least it's WW so it moves along a bit faster. I have a ton of half finished crochet projects, so at the moment I will not let myself start anything else. I'm hoping to have my WIP pile down to just my quilting and cross stitching projects by the new year. (I think I might have said that last year too!)

Hi House. :autumn:rain   It's a stormy day here - we really need the rain!

Cindy ~ Okay, how many times have we all said we won't buy more yarn until we finish our wips? :wink:lol   Can't wait to see your scarves!

Sherry ~ I hope you're safe and dry - the weather looks like you may be getting some, to.

I finished the hexagon afghan last evening. :)   The border ended up with a sc row of taupe - my DH and neighbor thought the contrast was needed and I agree.  It's way too dark inside for pictures, but I'll take some when I can!

Hi Ladies,

I found out today that I am the last of the "Happy Hookers" (crochet group I belonged to back home). My dear friend Audr'e died. I know she is in heaven with the rest of are group. There hooking, eating pie and having coffee. They were all like a mom to me but this one is really hard.

Marlene ~ I'm so sorry - so often those from our past are the hardest to lose. :hug  Our neighbor when DD was born (Mrs. Edith Nelson :manyheart )  crocheted and knitted beautifully and was the last of her long time crafting group.  They had been together for over 40 years!  I think about her often.
