'Morning, all. :)

Judy ~ WTG on finishing your bear 'ghan! :cheer

Cindy ~ Oh, I'm so glad you're enjoying some nice weather after the long winter!  Something that works for mosquitos...at least for some people - rub a dryer sheet on all exposed skin!  It works for me, but not DD.

Joanne ~ Your Saturday sounds super crazy!  I hope you have a quiet, relaxing Sunday. :yes

Luke is very busy. :lol   He slept from 8 last night until 7:30 this a.m. and ate waffles and bananas for breakfast.  Now we're playing trucks and dinosaurs. :)

Have a good day, House. :manyheart

Good morning Housemates!

I've been sleeping in between my runs til 1 & 2 in the afternoon.  I've had good days and some bad days.  My allergies are really working me over.

We've had rain the last 2 days!.

Marlene, Jaleia Marie stays on "ready" to go to Bama.  My sister called and told her she'd come and pick her up as soon as she gives the word.  If she has her way, she'll be gone next weekend since school is out on Thursday.  She usually stays in Bama until the weekend before school starts.  I'm lifting you and your family up in prayer.  I hope hubby and brothers make up sooner than later so they won't cramp your's and mil's style.  I'm sure Maya is in the count down mode for coming to your house.

Joanne, I'm sorry you had to work yesterday.  You're not getting a balance of rest with the time spent working.  WTG on getting your deck stained.  I hope you have a very restful day today.

Sherry, I'm glad your knee is improving.  Will you continue to have 2 bosses when the merger is complete?  How would that work?  I'll continuously touch and agree with you in prayer that all goes well.

Cindy, There's nothing like needing a vacation after being on vacation...especially if you travel.Your patio sounds wonderful...a nice place to hook and read.  I'm feeling a little better.  Thanks for asking.

Mary, I'm still working on the baby things and I've worked on some wips when I felt like hooking.  I still have to put the mouth on the doggie...it's embroidery and I've never done that on crochet.  I have the ears left for the giraffe...horns are on.  It's just little small stuff that I find tedious and I'm procrastinating.  I'm almost done on a baby "BAMA" ghan.  I also received a paid order for another Noahs's Ark blanket.  It's not due until August.  I have 2 of the blankets made up...just have to make the animals.

Linda, It appears that you and your employer & customers are a great fit.  I'm glad that you're enjoying your work.  Looking forward to seeing your projects.

Judy, Waiting for pictures of your bear ghan!

Marisa, Congrats on 2 new patients (GROWTH).  I hope all is well with your mom...continuously praying.

Well, my stomach is complaining so I guess I go scratch for something to feed it.

Have a great day housemates... and :ghug  to you all!

Hi, ladies!

Mary, Luke sounds soooo cute! DS was into dinosaurs at that age, too!

Val, can you take something for the allergies?

Poor Cindy! Mosquitos find Hubby and get him through clothes too - not me though. I don't think I'm"sweet" enough...LOL! Good luck in finding an easy reppelant that works! The old standby I remember is Avon's Skin-so-Soft.

And here are 2 pics of bearghan :) The little do-dads around bear are bees...the yellow doesn't show up well.

Good morning!  I was on my feet all day at work yesterday.  When I wasn't waiting on customers, I was helping Lily rearrange things in the store.  I came home super tired last night and went to bed early and slept late.  :out    I'm better today.  I just don't have the energy I'm used to, and it's super frustrating.  There are times when I feel older than my years.  Sigh!  :sigh   Sorry about that.

Linda ~ I hope your internet is back to normal soon!  Your weather sounds great - we are close to 90* with really high humidity.

Luke is such a cutie.  We've been outside all morning - riding his tractor - playing in the dirt and mulch in a bed by the garage - trying to spray Gracie with the hose...  We had Chick fil A for lunch and he announced "I want to take my nap now, Grammy." :lol   Five minutes later he was sound asleep. :c9

The air got more and more humid as the day progressed and last night saw us have thunderstorms and rain.  Which has continued into today.  Occasionally the thunder is close enough to feel the vibrations even in the apartment.

Luke sounds like such a cutie.  You are so lucky to live close to him.  :hug   And it's so typical of them to go like gang busters and then suddenly be out like a light.  Those years go be so fast.  Enjoy him every chance you get.  :c9

Good morning!

It's a rainy day here :( and of course it's on my only day off! Oh, well, can't do anything about it. Yesterday, I went into work at 2 and  I worked till 7:30 then DH met me for dinner and then I had to get on a conference call at 9PM! Crazy!

Cindy and Judy- glad you like the knitting pattern. When I saw it, I thought to myself- I can do this! :)

Heading out to get groceries in a few minutes to get that taken care of and then I'm taking the rest of the day for me. A little reading, knitting and maybe a little R&R time later on if DD is going to be around.

Wishing you all a peaceful Sunday!

That doesn't sound like much of a day off!  Wow!  Enjoy today.  Is there an end it sight?

Have a great day everyone.  :hug

Hi Valerie!  I hope your allergies improve soon. :hug   You have accomplished a lot lately! :clap   The Noah's Ark pattern is so cute.  I'm not good at embroidery on crochet and avoid it at all costs. :lol

Judy ~ LOVE the bearghan! :c9   Your work is beautiful and the bees are so cute.  Sorry - I can't remember where it's going?

Linda ~ Being on your feet for hours is so tiring - I don't have the energy I used to have, either. :wink

Luke is napping and we promised him he could play in a sprinkler before we take him home.  It's close to 90 again, but the water is still pretty cold.

Having him here has been good for me - things have felt more normal than they have in months.  But tomorrow starts another week of not-so-fun things.  Sue (sister) and I have a court date (with our parents' lawyer) to settle mom's will,  DH has his eye appt. tomorrow and I need to see Dad at least once this week.  It will probably be DH's last appt. with the retina specialist, since there is nothing he can do.  I think DH just wants the tests run once more, even though this is never reversible...it's been really hard on him. :cry  Oh, and how could I forget ;) ...I have a dental appt. Wednesday.

Thanks, Mary and Linda!

The bearghan is going to a dear friend's DD who is expecting her 2nd child in August. THis is the third time I've made this pattern but the first time I've changed the color of the bear. The DD's 2 1/2 yo son is the one who got the bearghan made of 12 inch squares.

Have a good night my friends.

Hi Ladies,

Mary, I'm glad you had Luke for the weekend. It always takes are worries away for a little while. It's cute he let you know when he was ready for bed. They play so hard. Prayers for your DH! I'm sure it can't be easy for him. I hope your week even though busy and some serious stuff has to be handled will go easy on you.

Judy, The bear ghan is adorable! Everyone is going to love it!

Joanne, To bad you had to work yesterday and then have to have a conferece call on top of it. You give more than enough hours during the week that should be the limit. I hope you can see a light at the end of the tunnel real soon. I hope you enjoyed your day off and relaxed.

Sherry, Two bosses and they don't agree on things don't sound good. It sounds like your the monkey in the middle. How will that work out when the merger is finalized? Enjoy the extra time with the grandsons.

Cindy, Yeah for the new patio furniture! A nice way to spend a birthday with family at the park. DS's birthday is in July so we had almost all of his birthday parites at the park. Sorry the mosquitos ate you up. There bad here to.

Linda, Glad your internet is back up and working. Good luck with the cable. I hope you can find a deal. Glad you figured out real quick way you weren't feeling well.

Val, I hope those allergies leave you real soon. Maya has 13 school days left. We will be at her house that weekend and she will be coming home with us then.

Marisa, Yeah for 2 more patients! I hope your having a nice weekend.

I talked to Maya today. I told her I found 5 books by her favorite author at a garage sale. One she is reading right now and one she has already read. There is 24 books in the series. She has some teenage ones to. I'll have to make me a list and watch for them. I also found a big top cupcake pan. It'll be fun creating a big cupcake cake. It comes with a recipe book and lid that has a cut out so your cake bakes with an opening for you to put a filling in it.

Is anyone going to watch the music show tonight?

I talked to DSD today and her Mom is doing chemo again. Her hair fell out again and she isn't to happy about it. I wouldn't be either. She let her sister talk her into not finishing the last two treatments she was suppose to get, because she was so sick. And because of that her cancer started growing again so now she has to start all over again and will be going longer.

I hope everyone has a nice evening and a great monday. We are suppose to get rain for the next 4 days.

Good evening all.  It's been a very harrowing day.  Tornadoes to the north of us (about 10 miles) and then to east of us and some south.  Many, many homes have been damaged--totaled.  There's just piles of rubble.  it's so hard to see this again and again here.  So far only 1 life lost.  One actually blow a semi off of an overpass and it fell to the road below.  We have many friends that were close to one of the terrible storms but they are ok.  And we get to do again tomorrow afternoon :(  Not looking forward to that as I'll be at work with 90 kids in the building.  At least we have a safe place for them to go to.

As for having 2 bosses, I will have them from now on.  My boss will be the senior pastor and the new pastor coming in will be the associate pastor and will be my supervisor.  Not looking forward to that as I've run the office for 5 years with only the pastor being my supervisor (the previous pastor was great to work with), not sure how it will work with someone telling me how to run my office.  Haven't heard how the service went today but I'm sure I'll find out tomorrow.  thank you for all your prayers.

The graduation was great!!  Matthew gave the invocation!  He's such an awesome young man, and I know that he will do well in life.

Judy - the afghan is adorable!!  You did a great job on it.

Joanne - hope your week gets better.

Read all of the posts, but I'm so tired that I can't remember what all they were.  Will have a meeting tomorrow night and then again on Tuesday, ugh.  Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  Hugs to all!

Thanks, ladies!

Marlene, it's so nice hearing how much Maya loves to read -kuddos on the books you found at the garage sale!!

Sherry, you're going to have to really learn how to "read" your new bosses! You can do it, though :cheer :cheer

Anyone heard of this site?
www.freekibble.com

It's a place with dog and cat trivia and when I went on the cat trivia site I answered it and saw a pic of my grandkitty! Not really, but it's her twin - when DS isn't cutting her coat down.

Good Morning, everyone. :)

Marlene ~ Great finds at the garage sale!  Maya's love for reading at her age is wonderful.  Sending prayers for your DSD's mom.  :hug

Sherry ~ I'm so glad you're safe. :manyheart   The pictures on the news are incredible...we may be under the gun tonight and tomorrow. :(   I hope things work out okay with your new boss. :yes

Hi Judy and the rest of the House!

Laundry is going and I've vacuumed the downstairs...lots of mulch and dirt tracked in over the weekend. :lol  DH's appt. is at 2, so I'll go to the store before we go.  Have a good morning, all!

Sherry, I'm so glad that you are okay and hope that you stay that way.

Mary, good luck to DH at the eye doctor appointment.

I started the Persephone shawl last night.  I'm using a light weight cream colored yarn that has a gold metallic wrap on it.  I started it with a size F hook, decided that was too dense so frogged it all the way back to the beginning and redid it with a size H hook.  It now measures 9 inches from center to center point.  It's much softer and lacy with this size and I'm really liking it.

Then to top things off, I pulled out the first book in a series that I've been periodically rereading since I was in high school.  The Unexpected Mrs. Pollifax by Dorothy Gilman.  Mrs. Pollifax finds herself with nothing to live for so takes her doctor's advice to do something she's always wanted to do and never did.  Become a spy!  She goes to the CIA to volunteer, is accidently interviewed for a simple courier job, gets the job, and from there on anything that can go wrong does.  Anyone looking for a fast paced, light hearted romp will enjoy any and all of these delightful escapades.

Have a great day.  :manyheart

Good afternoon housemates :hi

I had a good weekend.  Saturday after my patients in the morning, I went shopping with Steph.  Then in the evening I volunteered to help at an event at the Pittsburgh Opera hosted by the Midwife Center and my job was to cut cake!!!  And I got to sample it too :lol  Yesterday, I went to the Pirates game and we won :clap  I had a relaxing evening and crocheted a bit.  I have a patient coming in a bit this evening.

Joanne - Very ambitious project on your needles!  It's going to be beautiful.  I hope you got to enjoy your one day off despite the rain.

Marlene - Prayers for DSD!

Linda - Chinese sure does sound good!  Make sure you're eating well rounded meals, it does make a difference!

Cindy - Sounds like you really got your patio put together.  Happy belated bday to SIL

Mary - My turtles are about 7" now, they've grown a lot since I got them and everyone is surprised at their size.  Good luck at dh's eye appt.

Sherry - When I rented this space for my office, all the utilities were still in the previous company's name and I only had to call to change the name on the account :think  Prayers for all those affected by the tornados.

Judy - Gorgeous bear ghan!

Val - I hope your allergies are calming down!

Well, more and more tornadoes today.  Moore has been hit very hard.  2 elementary schools were directly hit and almost totally destroyed.  Not sure if any of the children were killed but there are many injuries.  Hundreds injured and so many more homes destroyed.  Oldest DD lives in Moore but fortunately the storm was to the south of her.  GS school is ok, he was scared but ok.

Val - hope you're feeling better.

Marisa - already have checked and we have to resubmit everything since they consider us a new business, ugh.  It's gonna be a long process.  This church has been in existence since 1943.  sounds like you had a fun weekend.

Joanne - hope things are going well with you.

Well, I'm off to watch the TV to make sure no more tornadoes are headed our way.  Please pray for all those that are affected by this terrible weather.

Good evening!

For some unknown reason, the alarm didn't go off and I didn't get up till 6:15- to say it was a crazy morning is an understatement. But I did get to work on time-

Sherry- Praying that you are not affected by the awful tornadoes again about an hour or so ago in OKC!!! This devastating weather- between tornadoes, floods, hurricanes is rather disturbing!

Judy- Forgot to comment on how cute your bearghan is - I love it!

Marlene- Prayers for your DSDs mom!!! I always enjoy hearing what Maya's up to- so happy she loves reading so much!

Marisa- The project isn't so ambitious because it's easy. It will take some time and I'm in no hurry to finish it. That's what makes it so much fun. No deadlines!! LOL

I went to visit R&R after dinner last night for about an hour  and 1/2- it was great--I read three stories to Ryan- I'm so happy he LOVES being read too!

I just got home a little bit ago- because of traffic- there was an accident on the way home which blocked 2 lanes! Finally got out of work on time (or close to it) and took me over an hour to get home! Geesh!!! This weekend, they were planning to do a file load and wanted me and my co-worker to test. I put my foot down since DH and I have plans so there will be NO work this Memorial Day weekend! Thank goodness- I really need the 3 days off!!!!!

I was going to go to Craft Club tonight, but I still didn't eat dinner and every time I go without eating first I get a headache so I'm going to wait for dinner to be done, leisurely eat it and enjoy the rest of the evening with DH since we didn't get that much time this weekend together.

Have a good night!

You and I were posting at the same time. So glad to see your post and know that you are ok :hug  I did read the tornado hit Moore- that's a little too close for comfort. I can understand why GS is scared.

Stay safe!!! Prayers and hugs!

Oh, Sherry - that has to be so scary. The closest I ever got to tornados was when we loved in St.Louis and went through several summers of black skies and tornado watches! Scared me to death! At least hurricanes are a bit more predictable in where they're going.

Hugs to you and yours..... :ghug  :manyheart

Joanne, good idea to stay home with DH....there are times I have to space out my running around because I realize I've been spending more time out than in..... :hug

Hello everyone. Work today, and then we went to visit the inlaws. Work was pretty busy, but I'm off until the weekend now.

Sherry, what a scary situation out in your neck of the woods. Praying that your friends little girl is okay.

Joanne, sounds like a good plan to stay home and spend time with dh. Glad you put your foot down about working this weekend.

Linda, I liked the Mrs. prolific books. I'm pretty sure that I have a few of them in the basement. Might have to look for those tomorrow.

My DH woke up with a migraine so he didn't work today. He slept most of the day. He feels a little better but not 100%. I didn't do  much either. We had thunderstorms here for awhile and a good soaking rain.

I hope everyone has a nice evening and a great tuesday!

Sherry's friend's little girl was found alive :):yay there are still 24 children unaccounted for, though :cry

The devastation is almost unimaginable.

Marlene- I'm using birch white by Bernat Waverly yarn for the blanket. Did two more rows of the blanket tonight. Doesn't sound like much, but I'm having a hard time focusing tonight.

Night all,

Stay safe and hug your dear ones.

Good morning,

I was up and down most of the night. The devastation in Moore is just heartbreaking. Extra hugs to Sherry and all our OK villers.

Linda- Hope you have a good day at work. I was going to do the Persephone shawl, but then decided to pull out the pointy sticks and start the baby blanket instead. I'm really enjoying knitting since it's a nice change from crocheting.

Cindy- Enjoy the rest of the week off. I'm counting down till my 3 days off. 4 more days to go!

Marisa- Sounds like your business is really picking up! I'm so happy for you!

Val, Judy, Mary, Marlene, Sherry and everyone-- extra special hugs today for all of you! :ghug

Hi, ladies...I wanted to check in quickly to see how Sherry and her firends were doing....so grateful her friend's daughter was found alive.

But I heard the elementary school was hit....and 20 kids are gone....total of 90 people from the area...and that was with a 16 minute warning.

I can't believe it.

My thoughts, prayers and tears are with all of those people

Hi All - It's very heartbreaking here.  Thank you for all your prayers.  Two elementary schools were destroyed, one all the kids and teachers are ok and accounted for.  The other one still has a lot of missing kids and teachers.  They have searched all night at that school.  I have several friends that have lost all they own but they still have their family.  My friend's daughter was found at about 9:30 p.m.  Not sure if she's injured but at least we can rejoice she has all of her children now.  she was a student at the one where there are still many missing.  They said this morning that 51 have died and that number will go up.

My oldest DD and grandsons live close to where the tornado was.  She was picking up the youngest GS at my work when the sirens went off.  She said with us until it was safe to go and get the oldest one that was still at school.  Fortunately the school is good but he's scared now when it thunders.  No school, so I will see him today and give him lots of hugs.

Again, thanks for all your prayers.
