Our House Part Two

Good evening everyone!

Mary- Hugs to you! Glad that your Mom was able to go peacefully in her sleep. It's never easy but that's the way I hope to go! Hope your bro doesn't cause too much trouble!

We are supposed to get a storm tomorrow- high winds, rain, maybe wet snow- who knows? But a storm none-the-less and going until Friday I think.  DD had her appointment today and she said the baby is low, but she is not dilated yet. Hope she holds on till after the storm! She doesn't have to go back to work after today until Friday. She's working till the last minute to have the most time of after the baby arrives.

I'm doing my laundry- and going to pack a small bag to keep in my car, since you never know when the call will come for me to go stay with Ryan!

Have a good night everyone!

Hey, all. I'm not so great at following along, i'll try better tomorrow!

Thanks for all the welcomes :)

I am working on...

1) a set of dishrags for a charity quarter auction event

2) a set of "wristers" for a friend

3) a ruffles scarf for my mom and

4) a sparkly scarf for myself.

I CANNOT be working on only one item. Ever. LOL  So I may start on a fifth when one of those is done, I saw a pattern in a magazine for a "bowl" that holds your yarn from rolling off the table, I want one! :) So i'll make it.

I am in Mt. Pocono. Actually, just past the casino and caesar's resorts. hazleton is about 45 or so minutes, i believe, although I've never been there.

Anyway, "see" you all tomorrow, and I'll try to follow along better. :)

Marisa - Lifting your mom up in prayer.  I hope they can get to the bottom of her issues.  Enjoy dinner with your fellow chiros.

Cindy - I'm sorry you're still not feeling well.  I hope you were able to get some hooking done.  I've made 5 sets of diaper covers with matching hat...a doggie, ladybug, giraffe, baby chick & rabbit.  I have to put buttons on the diaper covers and faces on the hats.  I haven't worked on the wips.  I'll work on them on Saturday & Sunday.  I hope you get to finish your scarf.

Joanne - We had thunderstorms and rain today but it's gone.  We still have high winds.  We had a nice breezy but not cold day.  On tomorrow, it's going to be cold again.  Thurs & Friday, we're going to be in the 60s.  Will you have to take off work to take care of Ryan if the baby comes during the week?  I hope the baby waits until after the storm passes.

Linda - A quiet day at home sounds good and is just what you need after such a busy day at Rosie's.

Judy - glad your session with your neighbor went well.  I can imagine her face when she found out just how many saltines you guys would have to make.  What is your method for sewing the saltines together?

Sending :ghug  to all the housemates.  Have a good night all!

Hi House.  Thank you so much for the sweet words and for being here. :manyheart   I've written lots of notes from posts tonight, but think I'm going to bed.  I plan on being home the next two days, so will do lots of laundry and "talk" to you all tomorrow.

Thinking of you all - sending hugs :hug  to those not feeling well and keeping my fingers crossed that Joanne's new grandbaby doesn't come during a snow storm. ;)  :c9

Good morning housemates!

Shellie - We don't have set rules on coming into the house.  However, we do worry when regulars just disappear.  We do understand that life happens and we all have an off day or two where we might not be able to visit.  We usually do try to come in as a quick drop in so as the other mates don't worry if we're gong through something and will be MIA for several days.  You're welcome to come whenever you can!

Mary - Good to hear from you.  We're here so don't worry about posts and all that stuff.  Most of us, if not all of us have been where you are now.  Just remember to take care of you!!! :hug

We go a light snow dusting overnight.  It is soooo cold out there and will not get out of the 40s today.  However, we're suppose to be in the 60s on tomorrow.

I didn't sleep well last night.  Might right leg was hurting.  I'm finishing off a cup of hot chocolate and then going back to bed until time to take my DNep to work.  I've already dropped the girls off.

Have a good day housemates!  Try to stay dry and warm!

Hi, ya, peeps!

Val, I whipstitch the squares together. When I make the saltines I make sure I end the square in the middle of a corner, leave a long tail, and use that to sew them. That corner thingie is something I learned here....  It was too confusing for my neighbor to do, so I have her making them the usual way. The colors will be alternating so it won't be  an issue for me. I also went up to a J hook to get the 2 1/2 inches! She crochets loosely and I do it tight, so we decided to meet in the middle. It's a June baby, so a lighter blankie will be fine for quite awhile.

Forgot what else I read....

Mary, I wish you peace...and hugs to all my friends.

Good morning, I'm feeling better, but still not well. I couldn't sleep last night, which doesn't help. However, I promised to meet DD and the boys at Kohls this morning, so I have to go out. Dd needs towels, and she has a 30% off coupon, plus a $5 off coupon that she wants to use.

I will try to check back later, but I'd better get going so I'm not late.

Good morning!  I got woke up earlier than I really wanted to, because they were replacing the door in the apartment above me, which Sweet Pea off.  And then the phone rang.  Sigh!  :sigh   It's been super windy ever since the thunderstorm yesterday.  Even in my protected apartment it's really roaring.  And there were occational snowflakes in the air when I took Sweet Pea out for her morning walk.  Really cold, too.   The walk was a short one.  :lol

I am working on...

1) a set of dishrags for a charity quarter auction event

2) a set of "wristers" for a friend

Anyway, "see" you all tomorrow, and I'll try to follow along better. :)

Shellie, I'm like you.  I have multiple WIPs at all times.  Between quilts and crochet projects I probably have at least 15 at the moment.  Maybe more.  :P

Marisa - Lifting your mom up in prayer.  I hope they can get to the bottom of her issues.  Enjoy dinner with your fellow chiros.

Those sound absolutely wonderful, Val.

Linda - A quiet day at home sounds good and is just what you need after such a busy day at Rosie's.

With the weather the way it is, another quiet day is in the plan for today.  I've been working on John's quilt.  I've got 5 of the 9 rows done and 3 put together.  I have to iron the last row and then I can put 2 more together.  I'm planning on putting 3 together at a time and then joining the 3 sets of 3 together.

Sending :ghug  to all the housemates.  Have a good night all!

Have a great day, Val.

Good morning ladies :hi

Well, I've been reading through the posts for a while now :lol  I had a good dinner out last night and we had some really good discussions :yes  There was a bit of snow on the car this morning and it was really heavy and wet!  Pretty uneventful day on tap here today.  I'm going to try to get some crafting in :think (I didn't see a 'shhhh' smiley)

Linda - It's nice to have a couple quiet days, sorry your were woken up early today though :hug  It's not a bowel transplant that my mom would be getting, just the stool portion in the bowel! :yuck  Nasty just to thing about.....basically an enema of stool from a matching donor!  It would help with the 'good' bacteria portion in overtaking the bad bacteria (c diff).

Judy - Let me know if you need help with your saltines.  I don't mind them if I'm not hiding tails and not sewing them together :rofl

Joanne - Oh boy, I  hope dd can hold out until after the nasty weather, but when baby wants to be here....there's no holding back :lol

Shellie - Let me just tell you, no real need to ever go to Hazleton :no:lol  No worries, following this group comes with time :yes  I usually keep a notepad and jot down a word or 2 as I read through so I remember what I want to say to who.  But, I do go through spurts when life just gets busy and I only do quick posts and am not even able to keep up :sigh  Like Val said, there are no rules here.

Val - Sorry you didn't sleep well :hug  How is your leg this morning?  I hope it lets you get a nap in :xfin

Mary - WTG on your laundry.  I explained above what my mom would have to get done, so it's not really surgery.....just really gross to even think about :yuck

Cindy - Glad to hear you're on the mend and at least feeling a little better :hug  Have fun shopping with dd and hopefully it won't wear you out to quickly.

Cindy - Have fun with DD and try to stay warm.  I hope you feel better today! :hug

Judy - I'll have to try that way.  I've ended in the corner on larger squares but I think the saltines I've already done ended in the middle.

Linda - It was snow on the cars here and in several yards when I took DNei & DGNei to work and school.  It was just a small dusting but we got snow nevertheless.  I can't even imagine the temps reaching 60 tomorrow with the way it feels now.  Stay warm.  Looking forward to seeing pictures soon.

Marisa - I still have a dull ache and sparodic pains in the right leg.  What craft are you working on today?

Mary - I did manage a small nap.  How are you holding up?  :hug

Linda and Valerie ~ Sounds like the winds we had yesterday!  It practically pushed my car all the way to my parents' town, but driving into the wind on my way home took half a tank of gas. :lol  Trees and power lines were blown over!  Stay safe and warm. :yes

Cindy ~ I hope you're a bit better.  How is little Luke doing? :c9

Marisa ~ I hope you get some crafting time today.  How is the "bridge" project progressing?

Hi Judy!  How many squares will you need for the baby 'ghan?

DD just emailed these - Zach was 19 weeks on Monday and Luke will be 3 on March 30th.  Luke has on his "construction" vest and tool belt. :D

Hi again.  The winds have died down to a more normal level, but aren't completely gone and won't be for a while.  I've put together more multistrips for John's quilt.  Still have to iron them and cut them into the appropriate size, but will hopefully get another row done yet tonight.  I'm soooo cold.  Sounds like it won't really be warming up for a couple of days yet.  A little better, but not much.  March has come in at 14* - 18* below normal so far.  :yuck

Hi all,

Winds are howling- and we are supposed to get snow later on- the wet , heavy kind of snow-- I've heard it referred to as 'heart attack snow' because someone could have a heart attack shoveling it!

So far, DD is doing well- no labor yet--which is great. I'm secretly hoping he arrives on 3/11- which would mean he would share a birthday with his godmother!

Val- I will leave work if DD goes into labor while I'm there- and I'll take off a couple of days. It's all up to her. I'm available when/if she needs me. Her MIL is sick with a bad cold now so DD doesn't want her bringing her germs into her house- and I don't blame her. If she is better when the little guy decides to make his appearance, we're going to take turns with Ryan so we can each get to see the new baby.

Mary- Love, love, love the pics of Luke and Zach!!! So adorable!!!

Linda- You've made good progress on the quilt for John!  Sorry that you got woken up before you were ready this morning!

Judy- Hope you are keeping power- and that the winds aren't too bad. I was looking a video's of the Jersey shore and it's so sad that with all they endured with Hurricane Sandy, there is more flooding down there. It's so sad-

Did you hear that Tex is out for 10 wks with a ligament sprain in his wrist. The "old' Yankees are falling apart--literally- No Granderson, Arod, Tex, ---

Shellie- As everyone said, we're very easy going in 'our house'. We do worry when someone hasn't posted in a while who regularly posts. It's more interesting to have more than one project going on at a time. I used to do one at a time, now I have about 4 different things in the works

Cindy- Hope your DD found what she wanted at Kohl's --that reminds me--I have a 30% off coupon---so may stop there tomorrow if I'm not needed to babysit and pick up something for my middle DD for her birthday Monday!

Marisa- Glad you had a good a nice evening with fellow chiro's! And good for you getting back to the gym yesterday! I really need to start up with walking again- the weather has been so yucky---but hopefully now, once this latest blast of winter is done, we'll start seeing signs of spring.

Speaking of sprng- this weekend- clocks get moved ahead 1 hour!  More daylight at the end of the day!!! :clap

Have a good evening everyone!

Thanks for the offer, Marisa ;)  We'll do well on this one...lots of time, too. Plus I need the distraction....

Hi Judy!  How many squares will you need for the baby 'ghan? Only 250 :lol :lol  :lol  :lol  :lol  :lol  :lol  :lol  :lol  I made almost 50 saltines already...

DD just emailed these - Zach was 19 weeks on Monday and Luke will be 3 on March 30th.  Luke has on his "construction" vest and tool belt. :DOh, they are so adorable!!!!!!!!!!

Hi all,

Winds are howling- and we are supposed to get snow later on- the wet , heavy kind of snow-- I've heard it referred to as 'heart attack snow' because someone could have a heart attack shoveling it!

Oh, boy - I hope they're  wrong!

So far, DD is doing well- no labor yet--which is great. I'm secretly hoping he arrives on 3/11- which would mean he would share a birthday with his godmother!

Judy- Hope you are keeping power- and that the winds aren't too bad.The trees behind us are bending almost 30 degrees...I made dinner earlier than usual today - and have enough for tomorrow (we have the propane stove in case...) I was looking a video's of the Jersey shore and it's so sad that with all they endured with Hurricane Sandy, there is more flooding down there. It's so sad- We went to Union Beach a few days ago and were stunned by the amount of devastation still there!

Did you hear that Tex is out for 10 wks with a ligament sprain in his wrist. The "old' Yankees are falling apart--literally- No Granderson, Arod, Tex, ---DH doesn't think the Yankess will do much this year - but nobody thought that after Mariano went down last year they would do well, either and they won 95 games!

Speaking of sprng- this weekend- clocks get moved ahead 1 hour!  More daylight at the end of the day!!! :clap

Checking in to say good night.

Mary - the boys are soooo handsome.  Zach is growing so fast.  Luke looks like such a big boy.

Joanne - It's good that you'll be able to adjust your schedule to help DD.  I don't blame her about not wanting MIL to bring germs into the house.  Two sick babies is not what she needs.  Stay warm and safe.

Linda - they're saying we should hit 59 or 60 tomorrow and even higher in the 60s over the weekend.  I just can't see it.  It's cold out there.

Judy - Stay warm and safe.  I hope you don't get the storm they're predicting.

Have a good night housemates...see ya tomorrow!

Hi, again.  I've got the next row all set up for assembly tomorrow on John's quilt.  And the spring Sewing and Quilt Expo starts tomorrow thru Saturday.  I don't know that any of us are going to go, although I would like to.  Better for my pocketbook if I don't.

It was funny.  I saw the weather report on the 5:00 news and they forcast maybe 50 tomorrow.  And then on the 6:00 news they said maybe 60 tomorrow.  Both forecasts by the same guy.  Sounds to me like they haven't  got a clue and are just guessing.

Hi all,

Winds are howling- and we are supposed to get snow later on- the wet , heavy kind of snow-- I've heard it referred to as 'heart attack snow' because someone could have a heart attack shoveling it!

Late spring snows can be like that and do have a bunch of guys overdoing it and having heart attacks.

So far, DD is doing well- no labor yet--which is great. I'm secretly hoping he arrives on 3/11- which would mean he would share a birthday with his godmother!

That would be so nice.

Val- I will leave work if DD goes into labor while I'm there- and I'll take off a couple of days. It's all up to her. I'm available when/if she needs me. If she is better when the little guy decides to make his appearance, we're going to take turns with Ryan so we can each get to see the new baby.

I'm with DD.   She doesn't need to have to cope with a family all with colds right after the baby arrives.  With luck little guy will arrive after MIL is all better and you two can share lots of time with him.

Speaking of sprng- this weekend- clocks get moved ahead 1 hour!  More daylight at the end of the day!!! :clap

Have a good evening everyone!

I just hope that I remember to change the clocks on Saturday night.  :lol   :lol   :lol   Knowing me I'll probably forget.

Good Evening All!!  Just a quick note to say hi and that I'm recovering well.  The physical therapist was pleased with my progress.  She will come 2 times a week and DH will help me with the exercises.  My real problem now is that I;m having is going to sleep.  The loratab was horrible and gave me panic attacks and nightmares, so that's part of the problem.  Not on it any more so I'm hoping with time I'll be able to lay down and sleep.

Joanne - love the blanket!!  Know you're excited about the new baby!  Keep us posted.

Did read but can't remember - so know that I miss being on here everyday and that you are in my thoughts and prayers.  For those in the blizzard areas, please stay safe and warm.

HUGS to all!!

Hi Ladies,  This is going to be short. I'm cold and want to go to bed. Today was hubby's birthday. He didn't want to go to the chinese place which surprised me so we went to subway. I keep forgetting to take pics of the rr and the scarves. We worked no Weaved Hotpad. The pattern is on ravelry by Kimberly Langlois. A lady her (she's new to are park) crochets. She can't read patterns so she does it from looking at something. Her daughter crochets and sent her a couple of these hotpads. So she showed a couple people. I got the pattern from ravelry and followed it. I tried her way and it wasn't working out for me. Tomorrow starts the Oyster Festival and we always work a booth with another couple. So I may not be here tomorrow.

Mary, I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom. It isn't easy even when your expecting it. No better way to go than in your sleep. How is your Dad doing? Such adorable pics of the boys. Luke she is growing.

Judy, Glad the neighbor is working out in the crocheting.

Cindy, Glad your feeling a bit better. I hope tomorrow is even better.  Glad you enjoy my Maya stories to. She is a loving girl. I hope that part of her she never out grows.

Val, When we get to about this time of the year the missing Maya gets harder to be away. We just have to remind ourselves it's still cold and she is going to be school. I would like to stay until near middle April unless it gets to hot. We'll just go home and whine about how cold it is there.

Marisa, Prayers for your Mom. I heard the story about more sinkholes. I hope your family stays safe.

Sherry, Glad to hear your doing better.

Linda, Sorry you were awaken before you wanted to be. Daisy woke us up at 5:30 yesterday morning to go out. Of course I couldn't go back to sleep. But I did go to bed early. Your making lots of progress on John's quilt.

I'm heading to bed. Sorry for missing anyone. Stay safe and be warm everyone. Have a nice thursday!

Good morning housemates!

Dropped DNe off about an hour ago.  DGNei is getting ready for school and then I'll drop her off.

Sherry - good to hear from you.  Glad you're on the mend and sorry you're having trouble sleeping.  I hope that gets better now that you're off the meds.

Marlene - I can't crochet by sight either.  I have to have a pattern.  Have fun at the fair.  Happy belated birthday to DH.

Linda - This morning, they're saying it will get to 56 and start dropping at 5pm.  Tomorrow is suppose to be 62.  Go figure!

Have a good day housemates!  :ghug  to everyone!

BBL!

morning, peeps!!

Linda, I have sticky notes I use when I need reminders. I've been known to paste them over the car's odometer when I need to stop on an errand I might forget to do!

Hi, Sherry! Good to "see" you!. Rehab at home is good...I have a neighbor up the street who had hip replacement and went home from the hospital quickly and had very successful rehab at home. Sorry about the meds and the nightmares! Maybe just some tylenol to relax you??

My neighbor making the saltines has a lot of persistence! SHe texted me 3 times last night with her progress (and lack of it) by the time she was done for the night she had made 3 saltines and the size matched up perfectly with the one I left her - and the ruler!

She said it was harder work than a job (She retired from teaching remedial English at our local Community College in Dec)

Hi to Marlene, Val ane everyone! So far we've had light snow flurries this AM that melt when they hit the ground. Might get a couple of inces tonight, but nothing major. At least the awful strong winds have stopped!

Later, gators!

Good morning everyone.  I'm up but not all that awake yet.  Sweet Pea was the wake up early culprit this morning.  :P   My joints don't this weather that changes radically every day.

Sherry, it's great to hear from you.  Glad things are progressing well with the rehab.  Sorry the pain pills are causing problems with your sleep.  That's a bummer.

It's really not that great up north yet, Marlene, so I totally understand your reluctance to go back home yet.

It is warmer than it has been for a while, although not all that warm.  I WANT WARM WEATHER!!!! :wbrr

Talk to you all later.

Good morning. I woke up with an awful headache, and it has taken until now to get rid of it. Its just about noon here. I think it's from the congestion, which gets so much worse when I lay down. We decided to postpone our outlet mall trip until I feel better.

Mary, those boys are growing quickly. They are a cute pair.

Judy, I also tape notes in my car to remind me of things. I stick them to the center of the steering wheel.

Sherry, sounds like your recovery is going pretty wel. It was nice to see a post from you.

Linda, I want warm weather too. It's nice and sunny here today at least.

Marisa, sorry your mom is stil struggling. It seems like she would be immuno-compromised from the steroids which may then just be hiding ongoing symptoms, and that they would slow down recovery. (remember that I am only speculating here.). My dd says they have done a few stool transplants in her unit. She says that a family member, preferably someone you live with is required to bring in stool that they have liquified in a blender. She thought that it was transferred to the patient by installing into a naso gastric tube, but an enema makes more sense to me. Supposedly it is a highly effective treatment. (Although it certainly sounds yucky!). I'm hoping that that is one transplant that I will never be involved with!

Marlene, belated happy birthday to your hubby.

Val, it does sound like you have been pretty productive. Are you selling online?

Hi Shelly, Tam, Joanne
