Hi everyone!

Mary- Those scarves are great- I've made Surreybelle, but not the zipline and now saved that link --they are very pretty!!! Love the pic of Luke! My DD and SIL took GS to a free gymboree class yesterday -and she said he loved it and had lots of fun.

Judy- Looks like Miss Lucy likes her new blankie!!! Great pic of DH and the 'kids'!

Marisa-Looks like you are taking full advantage of the free Y membership!! Good for you!!!

Linda- Hoping you are continuing to enjoy your well-deserved vacation with your family!!!

Cindy- Enjoy the long weekend!!!

I'll try not to talk about how busy I am at work- but suffice it to say- the meetings have been intense these past 2 wks- working on the proj schedule and instead of being finished in Sept it will be Dec- there is just too much work to do with too few resources. So, in a nutshell- I'll be busy until then- but am determined to try and have a decent worklife/private life balance. I'll still be working long days and have adjusted to the fact that unless I find something else, it is what it is. I may not be around as much or post as much- although I'll still try and stop in every day if only to say hi!!!!

Hugs to you all!

Hi folks

Mary

The picsare great . Luke is a little sweetheart ! Love the look on his face, concentrating on walking on the balance beam . Priceless .

Your projects are all so pretty too .

Jude

Your pics are great too. The pups look like they are excited for their car trip . The blanket turned out pretty too .

Val

How's the head ? Hope it's better, them things can get nasty to deal with . How about your afghan ,is it done ?

Marisa

Sounds as if you are busy as usual . Yoru life always sounds exciting, with lots of plans in the works .

Marlene

It sounds like the judge gave your ex-DIL a good raking over the coals. Let's hope it does her some good and she shapes up now .

Joanne

Sorry your job is going to drag out so much longer. I remember Sam dealing with the same stuff nonstop for such a long time. He got so frustrated and burnt out because work took up so much of his time . So glad it's over now and he is back to regular hours .

You're right, try to keep some free time open for yourself if you can . You need time to DE-STRESS a bit .

Cindy

Good news getting a long weekend off ! Enjoy it ! Weather sounds nice and summery too !

Linda

hope you guys are enjoying yourselves up there ,and spending lots of quality time together . Great news on the move date !

I had my appt with the thyroid doc yesterday . He is sending me today for a repeat ultrasound and bloodwork on my thyroid, and set me up to see a surgeon next Wed .

Surgery should be the following week. He said there is no other alternative after seeing the first ultrasound . He wants the 2nd to see if they have grown any bigger since Feb .

Will keep you posted as I find out more.

You all have a good day.

Good morning everyone. Didn't realize I missed posting yesterday. I've been able to stop taking the stomach medicine while up here and I'm not so tied up in knots. It's wonderful to wake up in the morning and not feel exhausted. We did a fair amount of running around yesterday with appointments and such. Will be spending time with DD and another of her friends this weekend. I'm reading, watching DVD movies, and crocheting and enjoying my GS. Today he will go back to his dad's house for two weeks, so won't get to see him much more, but it's been great!

Hey ladies,

Just a quick update on my friend. I still havent spoken to her yet but got a little tidbit through text when I asked her when her appt with the specialist would be. She already saw him/her and they said that because she had no symptoms it was probably due to a blood, developmental, or genetic disorder and this was the bodies way of protecting itself. The 2nd baby is currently right on target and they will not remove the other since it risks the healthy one to be harmed, so nothing will really be done at this point....just moving forward.

Most of the time when a baby dies in utero it's because something is seriously wrong with it. I'm so glad the other one is still okay. Keeping them in my prayers.

I was thinking there was probably something genetic... it happens, and there's nothing anyone could have done to change it:( You're a very good friend...

Cindy, I'm happy to see I'm not the only one who gets distracted, craft-wise!

Instead of working on my saltine ghan I went to Michaels (first I loaded their app with coupons on my phone) and bought size 13 bamboo needles and this color yarn to knit myself a winter scarf http://www.ebay.com/itm/Loops-Threads-Charisma-bulky-yarn-Northern-Lights-lot-3-/370622108911?_trksid=p3284.m263&_trkparms=algo%3DSIC%26its%3DI%26itu%3DUCI%252BIA%252BUA%252BFICS%252BUFI%26otn%3D21%26pmod%3D130710820486%26ps%3D54

Lovely yarn Judy.

Good morning!!

I love that yarn Judy- I had stocked up on some when they had it on sale or 1.99/skein last winter- I made a RR with it, some hats and will be making scarves with it for this winter. Speaking of scarves I'm on a Queen's Ann Lace Scarf kick- making them for Christmas gifts for my co-workers (the ones that got a SBT last Christmas) They work up really fast and look a lot harder than they really are and come out so pretty!

Off to get ready for another busy day--but at least I got 6 1/2 hours of sleep last night without waking up!!!

I'm going to have to look up that pattern. It sounds very pretty.

Marisa ~ Way to go on all the exercise you're doing! :cheer DD has always taken classes and is now doing yoga and water aerobics. :)

Valerie ~ I hope your cable and internet are back soon!

Pictures from me have been scarce lately...I need to keep up better. :D

Love all the scarves and RR, Mary. :clap:clap:clap

Oops-I messed up the links...

The three scarves on the right are from:

http://positori.blogspot.com/2011/02/free-crochet-pattern-zip-line-scarf.html

The two on the left are from:

http://sarahsweethearts.blogspot.com/2009/08/craftee-saturdeethe-surreybelle-scarf.html

The baby ripple is Lucy's (Attic 24) pattern.

And one of Little Guy. :)

The zip-line is extra pretty. Oh, what a sweet picture of Luke!

We had a nice time together after graduation...and the view of the Navesink River in Red Bank was wonderful from our table. I am so proud of the young woman my goddaughter has become.

Here are some pics - looks like we got that part of CV all fixed!

Miss Lucy on her new blankie....I put it down, told her it was hers and she walked onto it, circled, and lay down.

The other pic is hubby with the pups - their fav thing to do is go on a car ride!!

Great picture of Lucy with her blanket and, of course, the one of the DH and the "kids" is priceless. :devil

Hope you all have a great day! :manyheart

Yikes! :eek Sorry it's going to stretch out so long. Good idea to strive for some balance so you don't totally burn out.

Hugs to all in need. :hug:hug:hug

Good morning housemates!

Still no internet so I'm using the blackberry.

Mary - your scarfs and ripple ghan are beautiful. Luke is sooo cute!

Judy - I'd seen Lucy on FB. The ghan is beautiful. Wednesday night I showed her to my sister. She loves the mini video of the furbies playing tug-of-war. It appears that you told them to look at the camera and pose. They were so perfect!

Joanne - Make sure you have balance because if something happens they will keep moving and you and your family will be the losers. Take care of you! How will you manage your Christmas presents?

Julie - glad to hear from you! Praying for A successful surgery. Head is clear today.

Linda - glad you're still enjoying your family. Good for you not having to take stomach. John had you under too much stressm

Cindy - good for you having an upcoming long weekend. Enjoy!

Marisa - looking forward to hearing about your plans for the weekend. Have you heard from the teacher guy?

Have a great day housemates! I'll post pictures when the internet is back up.

Good morning, (Actually I think its pretty much afternoon already!) I woke up with an awful headache, so I haven't done much yet today. (started a load of laundry and did some floor mopping, porch sweeping and weeding., its not as much as it sounds like!) Its finally starting to go away.

Julie, hoping surgery goes well.

Val, I give you credit for being able to post so much from a blackberry. I have an awful time posting from my phone or from a tablet.

Joanne, sorry to hear that the project will be going on for such a long time.

Judy, your dogs always look so happy.

Mary, forgot to comment on Luke's picture yesterday. I can't believe how big he is getting.

Good afternoon ladies :hi

I slept in this morning :D And boy am I hurting, that class yesterday kicked my in the you know where :eek My back is sore beyond belief...I'm going to slap some stim on it and lay on the traction table while I'm here today :think

I got myself moving and watched some tv on the dvr while I had breakfast and then showered and got myself together for the day. I got to the office a little while ago, but don't ask me what I've done since I got here :think Oh, I did schedule an appt at Nissan on Monday to have my car checked out....it's making a rattling noise when I hit some bigger bumps :think So, I may as well get it taken care of before it becomes a bigger problem :yes

Steph and Bean are having date night tonight, so I think I'm going to do some laundry and crochet. Tomorrow is Averie's dance recital that I've already charged up my video camera for (that I never use) :shrug And that's about all that's on my weekend agenda so far and quite frankly, I kinda hope it stays that way :xfin

Cindy - :yay for a long weekend, I hope your headache continues getting better today :hug

Judy - Lucy looks so content on her blanket, I think she's happy to have one of her own :think Love the pic of dh with the kids in the back.

Joanne - I sure am taking advantage at the Y. Not sure if I'll get to go tomorrow morning or not, I need to find out what time Averie's recital starts. I'm definitely taking today off since that class got me yesterday, but I'll surely go back for that class since it's definitely hitting the points that I don't usually get. Sorry to hear your project is getting pushed longer :hug Remember last year when Bean had gone on nights 7 days a week in hope of finishing their project at the start of the year???? Well, he's now on days 5 days/wk at the same job/project :eek It surely can get frustrating when it keeps going beyond what you initially thought. Make sure you keep yourself sane :hug

Julie - Thanks for keeping us posted on the thyroid doc and surgery :hug How's everything else going? Are you sleeping any better or feel any better rested since you got your machine (even if not 100%)? Will you see Cam this weekend?

Linda - Of course you're able to stop your stomach meds there....you're not stressed!!!! This combined with actually feeling rested is just a preview to the next chapter in your life come July :bounce Enjoy what little time you have left with GS :hug

Val - Sorry to hear your internet is still out, that is so frustrating :hug As for the teacher guy, well we were texting back and forth a bit and after we both got back from vacation I asked if he was interested in going out again. He said he thought about the whole situation alot while being away and that he was really just weirded out about the whole parent set up thing and didn't really feel comfortable with it, but didn't want to be rude to the parent. I thought I mentioned it, but maybe I forgot :think I remember thinking that I had to let Julie know that the smores guy is still out there waiting for me over a fire pit somewhere :rofl

Mary - Luke sure does look happy in all his pics, that's great that's he's just always happy :manyheart

DD and I went to a yarn shop this afternoon and I came home with more Alpaca yarn. About 1,300 yards of royal purple and the same amount in a warm beigy brown.

GS is about to teach me a new game that he's good at and I've never heard of before. Wish me luck.

Later.

Thanks! They're used to me having a camera in my hands:lol Lucy, though a bit lighter than Sparkie, can drag him several feet across the carpet when they're tugging for posession of the same toy!

Good morning, (Actually I think its pretty much afternoon already!) I woke up with an awful headache, so I haven't done much yet today. (started a load of laundry and did some floor mopping, porch sweeping and weeding., its not as much as it sounds like!) Its finally starting to go away.

Ow...headaches can drag you down, that's for sure.

Judy, your dogs always look so happy.

The do, don't they? You should see how they leap out of the car when DH lets them out in the driveway after ther ride - I'd swear they were grinning!

I won the first one by 1 point. Beginner's luck. I was far behind on the second game when his dad showed up to get him for the next two weeks. Sigh! It wasn't really long enough, but I'm glad I got what I did and will be thankful for that. I still get another week with DD.

To the rest of the house- time for me to take care of my Sat chores and then off to get nails done and babysit Ryan.

Knit some more on my scarf yesterday - and saw where I made some interesting hole in the early rows:lol Charisma is so soft!

It's a beautiful day today - we'll be spending part of it hanging around with our friends who usually come here. The dogs were invited but we're leaving them here on guard duty instead;)

Good morning everyone. I ended up getting a lot done yesterday so my chore list is pretty short. That doesn't mean there isn't lots to do, (Isn't there always?), but it won't show if I don't do it!

we ended up going out for dinner last night and then dh thought I needed to go to Joann's. I bought some quilting thread, (you never know, I may want to finish one of my quilts in progress someday) and some size 13 bamboo knitting needles. I am thinking of knitting some pillows. My sister in law made some with super chunky yarn and huge needles. I am too cheap to buy that much super chunky yarn, especially since I have a closet full of yarn, so I plan to use two strands of WW together. I have size 11 needles from my moms collection if the 13's are too big.

And speaking of knitting needles, I like bamboo a lot, but the needles I inherited from my mom are just as nice to use. They are Prym brand and Aero brand and they look a lot alike. They are gray and I can't really tell if they are some sort of metal or if they are plastic, or a combination of the two, which seems most likely. Yarn slides on them really nicely, and they feel nice in my hands. No one sells them around here, not even the yarn shops, and when I looked for them on-line, there wasn't much to be had. My mom may have gotten them in Europe, as I know they are old, (possible as much as 30 or 40 years old).

Joanne, those twins are a pretty good size. Glad they and mom are doing well. have fun with Ryan.

Judy have a good day with your friends.

Linda, glad you got to spend some time with dgs. (You may need an extra bag to bring all that new yarn home!)

Marisa, hope you are less sore today.

Mary, fingers crossed that dh brings home dinner.

Judy - have fun with your friend!

Mary - I love fish...hope hubby is successful.

Linda - your new yarn sounds lovely.

Cindy - I hope your headache is gone. I had one several days this week. Enjoy the rest of your long weekend.

Have a great day all!

Hi, all. Another nice day here, although they are calling for thunderstorms later today. I am definitely going to be mailing a couple of packages home. One with the liquor set surrounded with yarn and another with things of Mom's that DB had saved for me from her house.

Good morning!!

My DD's sis-in-law had the twins on Thursday and mom and babies doing well. They were early- and are in the NICU- but we're all happy that they have arrived! Hugs!

I'm glad the babies are okay and so is DD's SIL. Pre-eclampsia is nasty. At that size they really shouldn't have to be in the NICU for too long.

I'm going to attempt posting pictures from the blackberry.

Can't see pictures well on this little screen. Will post better pictures when internet is fixed. Blue/Yellow-Albany State. Houndstooth-U. Of Alabama

Those are lovely Val. :clap:clap:clap

Have a great weekend. :manyheart

Good evening ladies :hi

Well, I got out of Averie's dance recital and decided to stop by the office quick. I had a message from (hopefully) a new patient. So I called back and got his voice mail so decided to check in with you while I was here. The dance recital was 5 hours!!!! :eek Can I just say that the annoying part is when the same 2-3 groups of students perform 75% of the numbers and 99% of those are the same thing but to a different song :sigh

Oh well, Averie did an awesome job and when I told her that, guess what she said to me......she told me that I did an awesome job watching :rofl She is just too cute!

I didn't take notes but want to congradulate Joanne's dd's SIL on the twins and that I'm glad to hear that everyone is doing well :hug

Also to Val, great ghans :manyheart

See y'all on Monday....later in the day because I have to take my car in at 9

Good morning

Val, I love those afghans. Great job.

I had a great time with Ryan. He is so much fun now and loves peek a boo, "so big" and is starting to understand cause and effect with his toys. We went for a nice long walk and generally just had a good time together. I'm so glad I live close by.

Went grocery shopping when I got home so I wouldn't have anything to do today!!!! Except relax!!!!

I hope you all have a wonderful day!!!!!

Hi Guys

Quick check in to say hello and hope everyone is doing well .

Val

The pictures of the afghans turned out well and look so nice ! What good work you do .

Marisa

So sorry about the twins . I'm glad the other one is ok . I hope the rest of the pregnancy goes well and she has a beautiful baby in the end !

Congrats on the new patient calling -- things are improving slowly but surely !

Linda

sounds like you are still having a good time on your trip .Get rested well since you will have a move to do not long from now. It'll be so nice for you to move into your own place .

Mary

Sooner or later your hubster will catch you a fish for dinner . He must just enjoy the sport of fishing, even if he doesnt catch much, he must like going . Sam used to love to fish too, but not so much anymore . He took Cam a couple times, but he isnt much for fishing,so he doesnt enjoy it for very long until he wants to do something else .

Cindy

Hope you got all your housework done that you wanted to accomplish . You sound like me ,if the mood hits, I'd better get busy on it,because I might not want to do it again for days !

Sounds like you have a lot of nice knitting needles from your mom's collection . I wonder if there's any way to find out if needles or hooks are worth lots of money, like if they are antiques ? I'm not very knowledgeable about that but I know some people collect them . I'm not sure how you'd tell how old they are. I know I have one hook that I found at a yard sale that has the price on it. It's just a Bates hook, but the price was 39 cents, so it must be fairly old -- it was stamped right onto the handle .

Joanne

Hope you got a better night's sleep last night so you are rested up today . It sounds like Ryan is getting to the fun age when he will do lots of cute and funny things.

Cam is getting to the "almost teen " years .. hard to find things to keep him amused like before ,and he has started his rolling the eyes thing already . Looks like that is gonna hit early with him,but luckily, the earlier it arrives, the earlier it will be gone .

Jude

How's the knit scarf coming ? I bet it's pretty .Sounds like your yarn choice was nice . I dont think I've heard of it before ,but I dont do much yarn shopping anymore .

If I forgot anyone, sorry ! I'm a little s l o w today .

I think someone asked about the surgery . My thyroid needs to come out. The doc said there are so many nodules and cysts growing on it that it is pretty much just covered with them. He said even the laser-beam shrinking of it wouldnt help since they have grown so large. They are affecting my voice and swallowing and breathing . He was originally gonna biopsy them ,but after my visit, he said he wants a repeat US and to get to a surgeon to get it removed. There are several large ones ,and he said the larger they get,the more shance they may turn cancerous .

Anyhow, I kinda knew it wouldnt be a simple appt ,with a simple answer,so I was prepared for whatever he said .I'm glad they are going ahead with getting it out so it wont be bothering me any longer .

Will update you on it after Wed appt .... fun week, Tuesday is the neurologist and Wed the surgeon . I deserve some CAKE this week .

Good morning peeps!

We had a nice day yesterday - first time we left the furples alone for that long (just over 6 hours) and nothing was eaten or otherwise damaged:lol Lucy was so thrilled to see me (usually DH is her person) she jumped on me and tried to wrap her front paws around me for a hug! That's what endeared her to me when I held her at 6 weeks for the first time and she hooked both paws around my forearm and drew it close to her. She uses her paws like hands, too! Scary child...:lol

Val, your ghans are WONDERFUL!!!!:cheer:clap:cheer

Cindy, enjoy your knitting needles! Those you have from your mom sound exquisite!!:)

Joanne Ryan sounds precious! :c9

Jude

How's the knit scarf coming ? I bet it's pretty .Sounds like your yarn choice was nice . I dont think I've heard of it before ,but I dont do much yarn shopping anymore .

Making good progress...this yarn is Michael's brand of chunky yarn. Sooooo soft - esp done up in knitting.
