Our House Part Two

Good morning everyone. Sorry to be MIA for a few days. It's just because I've been busy. Took Sweet Pea to the vet to have her teeth cleaned, shots, etc. They had to pull one tooth that was hanging on by a thread and she has an ear infection. Will be giving her meds for that for the next 5 days. Then went to church for the stations of the cross service and to check out several of the apartment complexes. There are 2-3 that are in my price range which is very encouraging. Also ran a bunch of errands in the afternoon. All in all a very productive day.

Linda

You must have the patience of a saint. My patience is about as long as a tsetse fly . I'd of never been able to keep my mouth shut for as long as you have with John .

Maybe he needs reminded of your JOB DESCRIPTION . Did you go to school all those years to PACK his CRAP ? Sorry to be so mouthy, but he is making me so angry . It seems he is treating you worse on purpose now. If this is your scheduled weekend off, then you are OFF . I'd make sure to have the weekend booked up and be gone. Let him do his OWN

@!#$%^&* packing .

Geez, I wish I lived down there, I'd come punch him in the nose for you :)

Love you, Julie! We had a talk this morning. His goal for me has changed from my staying on with them until they move to my being out of here by the end of June. I try to hold my tongue because it makes things go easier although there are times when it's hard. My job description seems to be whatever he decides it is. Sad. Oh well, there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and I'm focusing on that.

I met Phyllis today - and she took this pic for me, with my dog square. I added the ears at hubby's suggestion and then the collar - pattern didn't come with either one. I also took a pic of the saltine ghan I'm working on.

Love the hairdo and the square 'ghan are lovely.

:rofl Well, my first patient today is trying to set me up with her sons teacher...but not until after the school year :lol But her and her son are plotting this together to make it seem like a 'by chance' thing because her daughter will still be in the same school. :rofl It made me laugh that her son is helping to conspire this!!!!! Today was the first I've heard about 'the teacher' and it seems they've really put quite a bit of thought into this so far!!!!:manyheart

How funny!

Morning folks

Cindy

I wanted to ask if anything in your flower beds is coming up yet ? I know you have a green thumb and have lots of beautiful plants in your yard and you love gardening . We used to have lots of spring flowers, daffodils, tulips and the little purple ones ... but most of them have died off . I think they need replaced every so many years, dont they ?

I'm not much of a flower expert, but it seems that the flowers like that only get flowers for a few years, then the only thing coming up after that are the green leaves . I'm probably doing something wrong with them ,but we hardly have any left at all. It could also be the squirrels or something .I know we planted new bulbs one year but went out later and found some dug up ,so I'm guessing it was squirrels.

We really need to do something pretty with our front yard. It is so plain . We have one of the white -barked trees that is dying,so it needs cut down too . I'm not sure what to put out there ,but something easy to take care of that grows well on its own . :)

Julie, I know that some of the bulb flowers have to be dug up every so many years and the bulbs seperated and replanted. Each time they bloom they start at least one more new bulb and the bulbs get too close together after a few years and that's why they stop blooming.

Just a quick pop in to say hi....Sunday night at 4am my mother in law woke up with chest pain. She's resting in hospital now. So far tests show that she did have a small heart attack and she has pneumonia. My hubs had just seen his mom like 12 hours earlier and she was fine. No hint of being sick! Still running tests but at least she is comfortable.

Gotta pack my crochet bag. I'm taking a shift of sitting with her this evening so I better shake a leg!

Take care everyone!!!!

Oh, dear. Thoughts and prayers going out to her and your whole family. :hug:hug:hug

DD and SIL will be moving to their temporary apartment tomorrow and Saturday, so Luke will be here tomorrow through Sunday. They're not taking everything - but storing a lot in their garage and two downstairs bedrooms, since they've already been updated. They have TCU football players lined up to load and unload at the apartment...I think DH and I have earned a break from that. :lol So, I think we'll have an Easter Egg Hunt in our yard just for Luke. :)

See you all in the morning. :manyheart

Have a wonderful time with Luke and the Easter egg hunt.

My sister in law's dad had heart surgery on Monday and was doing really well until last night, when he took a turn for the worse and he is now in the ICU on a ventilator and on dialysis. I went up there last night and will go again in a little while. When she called me earlier today, the situation sounded quite grim. My sister in law and I are more than just sisters in law. We are very good friends and have become involved in each others families. This coming so soon after my parents deaths is devastating.

Hugs, thoughts, and prayers headed your way. :hug:hug:hug

As for the migraine doc, he wants me to have a sleep study done. He thinks I may have sleep apnea so wants to check for it .He also ordered a new headache preventative to try ,so I need to go get that.

They have to get the sleep study preapproved by insurance before scheduling it . He's very upbeat and says that he will help me, he said to trust him to figure this out and he has other things to try to help me if the first ideas dont,so we shall see. I go back in 2 months to see if the new preventative meds are helping .

What a fun bunch of crap I have to look forward to . Sleep study, appt at the migraince guy,2 days later, appt with the adrenal specialist for my thyroid to see what he will do with it.

August is bloodwork and kidney guy . September is asthma guy and October is mammogram .

In between is trying to figure out how to pay for all this stuff . :(

A sleep study sounds like a good idea. Good luck with all the upcoming doctor stuff. :hug:hug:hug

Off to do more running and then packing. Hope you all have a good day. :manyheart

Hi folks

For those having visits with your family members today, have a good time .

Joanne

You thought of a reallycute gift with the swimming related items. Are you guys gonna put a sandbox in for Ryan when he gets older ? We had one for Cam and he loved it . Our backyard used to look like a daycare center . We had the sand box, a slide a swing, a playhouse , a car he rode in with a gas pump to fill it up , a bike and a wagon .

We've unloaded All those things now. Gave Steph the wagon .She wants to keep it and give it to Cam when he has kids .

Linda

So good to hear from you . I was a little worried when we hadnt heard back from you . It's a good thing John is moving up the date you can leave. He's doing you a favor to be able to get out asap . That's great that you found some affordable apartments. Hope you find one you like that is good driving distance to your church and friends .

Hang in there, the days will go fast, especially when you have arrangements to make for housing, getting utilities turned on, furniture , etc. Did you keep any house items when you moved in down there with them, like in storage or someplace, or did you get rid of most of that stuff ?

Well, Cam is here again. He had to go home last night because his cousin spent the night, but he called and wanted to come back up ,so just got here a bit ago. Guess I'd better get off to talk to him a bit and he said he's hungry,so gotta find him something to eat.

Will check in later --

Hi everyone. :manyheart Luke is napping and DH is watching golf...it's quiet for about 2 hours. :lol

Cindy ~ I hope you've had a good visit with your DD and grandson. :)

Marisa ~ DD met her DH at a sports bar and it has worked out perfectly! If he called you later, then that sounds like he's considerate and had a good time! Your patient must be doing so much better - I bet he's glad he found you. :yes

Julie ~ Your doctor sure sounds like he cares and is paying attention. Our house/yard are starting to look like yours looked. :D We've been looking at the outdoor "play gyms" that have a sandbox and slide, etc. He absolutely loves the outdoors!

Judy ~ Have a wonderful Easter dinner tomorrow. :manyheart

Linda ~ You've been super busy! Hopefully, the next 2 1/2 months will go quickly and then you can start anew. :hug

DD and her DH are pretty well settled at the apartment already. They've taken the bare minimum - just enough to be comfortable, since they will only be there 2-3 months. They still have to make a couple of trips and take the cats - Luke will stay here til tomorrow after naptime. :c9

Time to crochet while it's still quiet. :hook

I won't have to get too many things. A lot of my stuff was stored under the house in the unfinished portion of the downstairs. But I do need for one of the complexes to have an apartment become available for me to move into. I'm trusting that God will take care of that, as there's not much I can do but get my name on the waiting lists at this point.

John spent a good bit of the afternoon cleaning out the guest bedroom closet and pitching a lot of things. More to do yet on that front.

Judy- We saw the 7,8 and 9th inning while eating dinner at the diner. Robertson got out of a jam, and yes, I think Mo stayed a year too long- although it's still early in the season, so we'll see!!!

You're right - it IS early...

I decided to not get a basket and instead got a sand bucket and a pair of swim trunks and a swim float for 9-24 mos old- it's really cute- and has a canopy and is specifically made for little ones to get them used to the water. I was debating on whether to open the pool, but DH said, "of course we are" (this from someone who hasn't been in the pool since we lived here:think) He said that he wants it open for Ryan! :)

That's going to be such fun!

DD is busy working away and she wants to go treat herself to a couple of new tops when she finishes and wants me to go with her. I often reward myself after working really hard (my reward is usually yarn, hers is clothes) Guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree and great minds think alike!:lol

Oh yes:lol:lol:lol:lol

Good morning to all my friends- and Happy Easter to all of you who celebrate!!!

We had a good day yesterday. I finished my RR while DD got to the point she was happy with on her thesis. We had good success at TJ Maxx and she found quite a few things she liked- so she bought a couple things and I bought the rest for her as an Easter present!

Julie- One of my friends from craft club had a Little Tykes playhouse she was going to get rid of so I took it. She dropped it off Friday. DD and SIL are going to take it though and put it in their yard for him. My girls had a Little Tykes Turtle Sandbox growing up and it was great since it had a cover! Will have to keep an eye out for something similar at yard sales! Hope you enjoyed the evening with Cam!

Linda- Prayers and positive thoughts that the perfect apartment opens up for you. In a few short months you will be beginning a wonderful new chapter in your life!

Val- Are you still in AL?

Judy- We watched the game last night- not liking the start of the season--but at least the Red Sox are losing their games too!! Enjoy what sounds like a wonderful dinner today!

Cindy- Hope you enjoyed your day and prayers continuing for your sis-in-law and family!

Mary- Have fun with Luke. That's great that your DD and SIL are all settled already!

Many blessings to ALL of you!!! :hug:hug

Hi House. :rabbit I hope everyone is having a nice day! Luke is napping and we'll take him to their "new house" when he wakes up. DH and I are putting our feet up for a while. :lol

The current scarf is almost finished. Using an H hook with Bernat Satin has taken a while...I've been using my I or J for a lot of the scarves. Then it's back to the baby ripple. :)

Have a good afternoon! :manyheart

I never had one,but one of my friends got one .Not sure what happened to it . Too long ago ! I dont think they'd still do that today .

Hi all,

I don't remember the colored baby chicks, Julie!

I thought that kids still got dressed up for Easter these days. I always got new anklet sox with lace, Mary Janes, new dress/hat/gloves! Oh, and let's not forget an Easter coat!

When my DD's were young, I always got them dressed up for Easter. Today , my GS had on khaki pants, a white shirt and blue sweater vest- he looked adorable!!!

We had an awesome day!!!! I'm very blessed!

Hello everyone. Just a quick check in from me. I cut my finger on a carving knife yesterday and ended up in the med center because I couldn't get it to stop bleeding, I held pressure on it for 30 minutes and then put a pressure dressing on it. When I removed the dressing after 5 hours it was still bleeding quite badly. So I ended up with stitches and a splint . I am not supposed to bend the finger or get it wet, which means I cannot work tomorrow. They said I could remove the splint on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, I am typing with one hand, and its slow going. (I don't type all that well with two hands, actually.....)

Hope everyone had a good day.

Wow...you won't forget this Easter! Were your grandchildren there when you did it? I can't remember what your plans were...

Ours was a nice day - DS brought me beautiful varigated pink, long stemmed roses. They look so pretty in my green vase:c9

I hope you heal quickly!:hug:manyheart

Good morning everyone. Sounds like everyone had a nice Easter Sunday. Mine was nice for the most part. The church service was beautiful. Then had lunch with Andrea (Rosie's daughter) and friends and family of hers. Spent the afternoon there too. Lots of visiting and laughter. Ashley (8) had gotten a set of the circular knitting rings and I taught her how to start and continue with it. She's making a hat for a friend and doing very, very well. When she gets it to the proper length I'll teach her how to finish it off. Megan (5-6) wanted to learn to knit with knitting needles, but Julia was focusing on teaching Andrea how to knit so that she could then teach Megan, who was being ignored. Megan was sitting on the couch with her back to the room looking totally miserable. Once Ashley was well on her way I had Megan come sit with me and I had her watch as I cast on 20 stitches. Then I had her put her hands on mine as I talked her through each step of knitting a row. The next row I had my hands on hers with her holding the needles. The third row she was doing it with coaching and assistance. She then did two more rows on her own at which point I called a break because I knew her little hands had had enough. Her concentration is awesome. I later learned that the one thing that she wanted for Easter was to learn to knit.

When I got home John let me have it for not staying home and sorting, cleaning, and packing this weekend. I did things that I need to do to be able to move out and I celebrated Easter, but he couldn't see it. All he saw was that he didn't go hunting and I didn't do what he wanted me to do. :rant:bang:thair:bang:rant One thing is for sure, he is ensuring that I am going to be delighted to be out on my own and out from under his dictatorship. And if he thinks that I'm going to come back and help with his packing after I move out he's got another think coming. Once I'm out, I'm out. Thanks for letting me vent. :hug

Hi ladies

1- Can you name something that was common practice for Easter when you were a kid ,that they don't seem to do as much of anymore ? :think

2- What was your most memorable Easter ? The year that we came up one egg short. It was found months later after it began to stink.

3- Did your parents hide eggs for you to find, or did you go to an Easter egg hunt elsewhere ? Mom hid so many eggs around the house and we would then hunt for them. There were hard boiled eggs, malted milk eggs, and chocolate eggs. About a dozen for each of us.

4- What traditional foods do you think of when you think of Easter dinner ? Turkey and dressing and cranberry sauce.

5- Do you still color eggs ? Do you EAT them ? Haven't done it in years, but would definitely eat them.

6- Can you name a song with the word EASTER in it ? In your Easter bonnet with all the frills upon it.

7 -What item did you always get on your Easter basket ? We didn't get Easter baskets.

8-What Easter candy do you like best, and which one do you liek least ? Chocolate bunny and least would have to be Peeps.

9-Name a COLOR that reminds you of Easter . White

10 - Did you family have any unusual traditions at Easter time that you've never heard of others doing ?

:think

Thanks for the questionaire Julie.

Hi ladies

Quick jump in before leaving to get some errands done this AM .

Jude

Your flowers sound beautiful ! You are lucky to have such a caring son .

Joanne

Thanks for stopping in, I know you are really busy lately,so it's kind of you to take the time to stop in each day .

Linda

Doggone, I wish I lived down there closer. You could come stay with us til getting settled elsewhere . We dont have lots of space ,but it'd beat where you are now. At least no one would be GNAWING at you about anything. You could come and go as you please, and no one to keep tabs on you or complain .

I cannot imagine how you deal with all of this ,and cannot wait til you get out of there .

John sounds like he is just ratcheting up and getting even more difficult each day .

I dont think guys like that like to have their authority questioned, or have anyone go against their rules. You did the right thing, it was your weekend off and a holiday and you had plans. You are also right, you have your OWN move to get situated,so you have stuff you need done to be able to move out ASAP . NO WAY would I ever step foot back in there again once you get settled elsewhere . Too bad he doesnt realize what a gem you have been for all these years ,but those type men usually dont see the GOOD in anyone .

Hang in there ,keep on networking with friends, etc to find a place and a job so you can move quickly . If you could swing it finance wise, you have already given your 2 week notice, so there's no reason you couldnt leave ahead of time if you could find a place and move earlier than planned . I'll keep my fingers crossed .

BY THE WAY ::: What was JOHN doing all weekend if he was home and not hunting ? Does HE know how to toss crap in a box and tape it shut ?

Doggone, I wish I lived down there closer. You could come stay with us til getting settled elsewhere . We dont have lots of space ,but it'd beat where you are now. At least no one would be GNAWING at you about anything. You could come and go as you please, and no one to keep tabs on you or complain .

I cannot imagine how you deal with all of this ,and cannot wait til you get out of there .

John sounds like he is just ratcheting up and getting even more difficult each day . He HATES the fact that I've suddenly developed a mind of my own.

I dont think guys like that like to have their authority questioned, or have anyone go against their rules. Absolutely!

Oh, John went through the guest bedroom closet and the office. Things that were out and out junk he tossed. The rest is spread out on the bed and the dining room for me to list, box, and get ready for donating. He's miffed that I don't want some of the more expensive things that are actually long since outdated and surpassed by more recent technology.

He's just making sure that I won't regret no longer living with them even if he doesn't realize that's what he's doing.
