Our House Part Two

Wow, my memory's shot :think By the time I finished my previous post and made it to another thread, I forgot to post my pics and answer the question of the day!:eek AND I wrote it in my notes :lol

So as for outside. I live in a community of townhouses (all rentals) and no of which are straight rows as townhouses usually are, but they are clustered and every unit has 2 end walls and 2 adjoined to another unit. The buildings are brick so directly out of my windows I see the next building and walkways. If I go out my door and turn right it goes to a parking lot where the dumpster is and is lined with trees. To the left is a small parking that that I use and the main road coming into the neighborhood. Across that road is a crane company. That road to the right goes to the main road from the interstate into town and that road to the left goes to a small marina on a river and then into a residential neighborhood. Around here in the Philly suburbs, all the towns are quite small and just run one into the next without really know that it changed :lol

And here are the pics of the case I made for my sister and of Mary's yarn, she got 2 of each color :D

Good morning, peeps!!

Sparkie and I had a very quiet walk yesterday - except for stopping to see if a teen neighbor was able to retrieve her rabbit from where it was resting under an SUV:lol I had to drag Sparkie awya before the bunny took off for the hills! Neighbor says the rabbit knows where she lives, so it's okay...:think

I managed to hook a little - playing with one of next month's crochet patterns for the combo challenge:devil I also starte dreading a cozy mystery, book one of a series of needlecraft mysteries: Crewel World by Monica Ferris. I have the first 3 of the series in one book. A REAL book, Joanne:lol:lol

Cheeria, your luck at AC is just like ours....but it is a wonderful place to lose yourself when you want/need a change of scenery. I hope everything resolves itself.:hug

Mary2 - hope the blood work goes okay. I hate that stuff!

Marisa - beautiful hook case!!

My view: 5 minutes ago on one side of the street a Golden Retriever and black lab were being walked when on the other side a Shelite and smaller dog were passing. It was a peaceful meeting:lol

Cold and sunny - some green starting to show itself on the lawn but there are still some snow piles across the street, on the shady side.

Off I go - BBL!

Good Morning, everyone. :) I just realized I didn't get back here yesterday and have enjoyed catching up on posts.

Julie ~ You must be so relieved that yesterday is over - but I know the waiting won't be easy. :hug Hope we can help the time pass more quickly for you. :manyheart

Yes, Luke is Mr. Speedy now. :lol We play lots of games and he's now laughing at my silly antics, like putting toys on my head and crawling around on the floor. He's also clapping to music and doing his own little happy dance. His first birthday is March 30th...where did the year go? ;)

Cheeria ~ Good for you for going to AC and having a ball! :) I'm so glad you had such a good day. :manyheart

Linda ~ Great progress on your quilt! It's just beautiful. :clap

Marisa ~ The case is very cool! Love the yarn, too!

Peaches ~ Yay for new yarn. :hook I've been wanting to make a hexagon ghan, too.

Mary ~ Oh, your view sounds wonderful. Good luck at the Dr. today. :yes

Cindy ~ We know a few people who have the flu now...keeping fingers crossed that our flu shots work! I hope you have some time for you soon. :manyheart

Hi Miss Tabby!

Hi to those I've missed. I have a dr.'s appt. this morning - just a check-up for my BP pills...but I still hate going! We're supposed to have thunderstorms and I don't want Ms. Truck to get hailed on. :lol Time to get ready to go.

Have a good morning, ladies. :)

Hi everyone, just stopping by to say hello and to let the house know that I'm okay and I'm dealing with the situation that hit us. Yesterday I did go to Atlantic City with my extended sister who recently lost her DH. By the time we reach Atlantic City I must say I was in a better frame of mind and the tension headache that was my constant companion during the week-end and monday seem to fade away. I guess when a person remove themselves from certain situation this is what happens, out of sight out of mind. I wish I can say we won but those machine just te our money like it was candy. I can feel the grumby spin button worming it self into my pocket to make sure I had not one dollar left. :eek One machine we played together was this huge giant dollar slot machine, I mean it was so huge that we both look at it with awe and it was hard leaving it behind. The spining cheeries, number 7's and vasrious other components of that huge machine stood in our minds even when we were on our way home on the bus. Just thinking about it bring a smile to my face. We hit three casinos and all with the same results, the machines where holding their hands out saying give me your money. :lol:lol:lol Well I'm tired now and I need to rest and get ready for the little darlings tomorrow. Thanks for being here for me house family. Just knowing there is someone to run to when things are happening in ones home or life is a big help especially when a person have to deal with all of life ups and down alone.

:hug :hug :hug :hug I'm glad that Atlantic City provided some needed relief. We're here if you need us. And we all CARE about you. :ghug :ghug :ghug :ghug

Love the case you made your sister and the yarn is lovely.

Rosie and John are going out to visit their daughter in Colorado today. I'll be letting their dog out for walks and feeding her and spending time with her when I can in the evenings. The granddaughter that lives out there has her birthday on February 29th, so they'll be spending her Unbirthday with her. They'll be back in time for the sewing and quilting expo that's the beginning of next month.

It's all clouded over this morning, but hopefully will clear off later. It's in the 60s all week this week which is super nice. There is some green in the front and back yards now. Yay!!!

Julie, I'm glad the doctor visit is done for this time and we are all pulling for you during the next 3 weeks of waiting. Hope the yarn works out. I've never visited fabric.com, and first heard about it just a couple of weeks ago. I'll have to go have a look.

We live in one of the older subdivisions in town. The houses have good sized yards so we aren't right on top of each other and it's very hilly here which helps, too. There are lots of tall trees, lots of them pines. Just a mile from the house you can look out across the hills to the beginning of the mountains and see the lake at the base of the drop. It's gorgeous. There are lots of places along the lake for hiking in the woods. And yet we are within two miles of all of Kim's doctors and a major shopping center. At night you can see the stars and even though we aren't in the country it feels as though we are. There are deer in the neighborhood in the wooded parts that are too steep for houses. And even though it's a development the houses are all different, not cookie cutter houses. There are ranches, two stories, story and a halfs, some with basements and some not. House size varies quite a bit, too. It's only about 5 miles to downtown where the courthouse is. It feels small town, even though it's pretty good sized and the county seat. A lot of that is due to all the hills and mature trees. And it's only about 27 miles to Atlanta if you want big city things and attractions. Our newest panda baby will be on display at the zoo soon. It's name is Po and just had its naming ceremony (done at 100 days old.)

Mary1...time sure does fly, esp when babies are around. Every day is a milestone!

Linda, the area you live in sounds so nice! The best of everything:c9

We're 2 minutes from 2 major food stores, banks, etc...other big stores are a short drive, and yet we have a quiet, very desireable, neighborhood. Neighbors across our back fence are very quiet (have tombstones for addresses) so no complaints there.:lol We're very close to our neighbors on each side, but a big fence we put up on one side took care of the one terrible looking house and awful yard.:D

Cheeria----those are always FUN- VERY inticing! Coming from here in Utah where gambling is illegal, we have to travel about 2-3 hours west or north to Nevada or Idaho. I like to go to Wendover NV they have killer PENNY machines and I won 600.00 on the one last time I was there- figured i must not go again for some time, my luck may have ran out then. I only started w/ 20.00 in the machine too! it was great!

Glad to hear your headache was gone for a minute. Sometimes you just need a break for a minute. Keep your chin up! We are all here for you! ((HUGS))

They don't have gambling of any kind in AL either. Would have to go to Missippi to do slots or to GA and TN for lotto tickets. Guess that's saving me money, but looks like you did good last time you went! Good idea to stay away for a while :yes

I'm feeling lazy today for some reason. I panicked yesterday for a bit. Couldn't decide if I liked my quilt pattern or hated it. I had Rosie come over and look at it and that helped me get my perspective back a bit. I've never had a piece judged before and I think it's freaking me out more than a bit. And I need another one and a half inches of the gold neutral fabric. I hope they still have some of it left. Otherwise it's going to be really, really tight getting enough to finish it. :eek

I took pictures of the three Christmas stockings. That's Trouble in the picture with them.

Guess how he paid for it:P

Howdy gang

Wow, I go to the store, and come home to 5 pages of posts ! Let's see if I can comment and not miss anyone who posted today .

Marisa

The hook case is cute. I must be a scatterbrain. I thought you only had a brother ,not a sister too. What order in the family are you ?

The yarn you showed was very pretty. And what is Mary going to make with it ?

Good for you doing a workout every day ! I'd do that if I got in the mood to STAND UP long enough .

Hi Toni

Glad you have the day off today to go do some fun stuff. They are building a Big Lot store in the next town over. I like their good bargains !

Hope your doc appt goes ok !

Hey there my PEEP Jude !!!

I bet you have your hands full when the dog walks you ! You look pretty little and dainty,so he could probably give you a run for your money if he saw something he wanted to get to fast !

Wow Mary1

I cannot believe Luke is almost 1 already ! Is he walking or still crawling ? That is a really fun age, they learn so much so fast ! Have you been reading to him ? He should be enjoying the pictures and things in the books now .

Good luck at the doc --sounds like it is Dr week in the House !

Linda

that is nice of you to take care of the neighbor's pup while they are gone . Hope you are ok with your quilt again now. Try to just enjoy the making of it like you do with the others, then maybe it wont make you as nervous. It will be beautiful .

The stockings are very pretty. Did you say they are all done now or you have more to go ?

Kiyo

Now why doesnt that surprise me that you have one of them loud thumping car speakers ? I noticed last week you mentioned having pink put in your hair. You sound like a fun person to hang around with. I oughta come out there with my old lady grey hair, and plaid pants and flowered shirt and drive you around in my old lady car, going about 23 miles per hour ,playing a little Barry Manilow .

THEN you'd have some REAL fun ! :D

Howdy to everyone else who hasnt yet checked in today !

lol---- You would laugh if you saw Aree and I cruising----I drive a Dodge Magnum that's black---lol I will have to post a picture, it looks like a maffia car and we listen to our music LOUD----from Josh Groban to Justin Bieber to Usher to Due West lol. It's great and we dance while we cruise. I paid for ALL of mine by myself though! :0) I want to add another sub but.......I told honey that's his job to pay for if we do lol.

I am sorry, I think I'm in a picture sharing mood! lol----

Here is my honey and Freed and I

The photo of Aree and I was last Easter- I made her skirt.

Lemme tell you bout the banana-----that is cardboard and lots and lots of packaging tape lol- at a local ski resort they had their closing day activities and to build a "sled" out of cardboard and tape is all you could use. Originally my x-bil built it for 3 kids to ride down this mtn in....hmmm I ended up riding it down and making front page of newspaper- I'm trying to find the photo w/ me in it- it was great!!! The kids crashed 1/4 the way from the top and I happened to be right there, tossed my camera to my mom and jumped in, afraid I would get stuck lol. Nope, the crowd went wild, it was awesome. Can't say that I will do it again, knowing how the end crash felt lol.

TY for the pics!! Awesome wheels....and you look so thrilled to be with your brother:c9

Pink streaks in your hair...if I was living alone that might just work for me. Or maybe deep burgundy for me instead...LOL!

Love the pictures ! And your pink hair is so cute ! Do they make hair color in those chades or what do you use ?

Love the car, I always like cars that look cool like that . My car looks old and worn out like me, so we match good .

Great photos of all of you guys ! You look like you are a really contented and happy person with your life ,and your girl looks the same,as if she has lots of self confidence . Great to see ! Shows you are doing a great job with her .
