Materials:

Worsted Weight yarn
Size H hook (5.00mm)
Yarn needle (to weave in ends)

Finish Size: 6"h x 6"w inches

Different Stitches:

Treble Crochet (TC)-Yarn over twice, insert hook in specified st, yarn over, pull up a loop, [yarn over, pull thru 2 loops] Do this 3 times.


Front Post Double Crochet (FPDC)-Yarn over, insert hook from front into side of specified st going behind st and then back to the front of your work, yarn over, pull up a loop, [yarn over, pull thru 2 loops] Do this 2 times.


Combine Front Post Treble CFPT)-Yarn over 2 times, insert hook from front into side of specified st going behind st and then back to the front of your work, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull thru 2 loops, yarn over, pull thru 2 loops, yarn over 2 times, insert hook from front into side of next specified st going behind st and then back to the front of your work, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull thru 2 loops, yarn over, pull thru 2 loops, yarn over, pull thru all 3 loops on hook.


Directions:

Row 1: Ch18 somewhat loosely, 1 sc in 2nd chain from hook, 1 sc in each of the next 16 chains, ch1 and turn.
(17sc)

Row 2: 1 sc in each of the 17 sts, ch1 and turn.
(17sc)

Row 3: 1 sc in each of the next 8 sts, 1 sc in back loop only of next st, 1 sc in each of the next 8 sts, ch1 and turn.
(17sc)

Row 4: 1 sc in each of the 17 sts, ch1, and turn.
(17sc)

Row 5: 1 sc in each of the next 6 sts, skip next st, 1 TC in front loop that was left free (from working the one stitch on Row 3 in back loop only) 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts, 1 TC in same front loop as last TC, skip next st, 1 sc in each of the next 6 sts, ch1 and turn.
(15sc, 2 TC)

Row 6: 1 sc in each of the 17 sts, ch1 and turn.
(17sc)

Row 7: 1 sc in each of the next 4 sts, skip next st, 1 FPTC in TC (from Rowd 5), 1 sc in each of the next 7 sts, 1 FPTC in next TC (from Row 5) skip next st, 1 sc in each of the next 4 sts, ch1 and turn.
(15sc, 2 FPTC)

Row 8: 1 sc in each of the 17 sts, ch1 and turn.
(17sc)

Row 9: 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, Skip next st, 1 FPTC in FPTC (from Row 7), 1 sc in each of the next 11 sts, 1 FPTC in next FPTC (from Row 7), skip next st, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, ch1 and turn.
(15sc, 2 FPTC)

Row 10: 1 sc in each of the 8 sts, 1 sc in front loop only (loop that’s towards you) of next st, 1 sc in each of the next 8 sts, ch1 and turn.

Row 11: 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, 1 skip next st, 1 FPDC in FPTC (from Row 9) 1 sc in each of the next 5 sts, skip next st, 1 dc in loop left free (from working 1 sc on Rnd 10 in one loop only), 1 sc in each of the next 5 sts, 1 FPDC in next FPTC (from Row 9), skip next st, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, ch1 and turn.
(14sc, 1 dc, 2 FPDC)

Row 12: 1 sc in each of the 17 sts, ch1 and turn.

Row 13: 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, skip next st, 1 FPDC in FPDC (from Row 11) 1 sc in each of the next 4 sts, skip next st, 1 FPDC in dc (from Rnd 11), 1 sc in next st, 1 FPDC in same dc as last FPDC, skip next st, 1 sc in each of the next 4 sts, 1 FPDC in next FPDC (From Row 11), skip next st, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, ch1 and turn.

Row 14: 1 sc in each of the 17 sts, ch1 and turn.

Row 15: 1 sc in each of the next 5 sts, skip next st, CFPTC first 2 FPDC (from Row 13) together, 1 sc in each of the next 5 sts, skip next st, CFPTC next 2 FPDC (from Row 13) together, 1 sc in each of the next 5 sts, ch1 and turn.
(15sc, 2 CFPDC)

Row 16: 1 sc in each of the 17 sts, ch1 and turn.
(17sc)

Row 17: 1 sc in each of the 17 sts, ch1 and turn.
(17sc)

Border:

Rnd 1: work 72 sc evenly around square, working into stitches; row ends and free loops (from starting chain). You should have 15 sc on each side with 3 sc in each of the corner of the square. Join Rnd with sl st, ch1 and turn.

Rnd 2: Work sc evenly around square, working (1 sc, ch2, 1 sc) in middle sc of each corner, join with sl st.
(76sc, 4-ch2 spaces)

Finish off and weave in ends.
