I just finished this doll the other day. Apparently it was an early Christmas present for my mother, who quickly snagged it.

I use fabric markers and fabric paint pens to do the faces, it's a lot easier. I had a little bit of trouble with the fabric markers because they ran on this particular fabric, but normally they work great on 100% cotton, especially fabrics like muslin-the higher thread count. First I draw the face out on the pattern and place it behind the fabric and trace it out, then fill it in. If you do that step first, before ever sewing, if you mess up you just cut another piece of fabric.

Sounds like some work, but really cute results, her face gives her a lot of personality!
