Christmas Bags

 

Bottom of Christmas Bags:

 

I hook and color choice of yarn

 

 

Reindeer and Gingerbread: Brown and white for gingerbread

Ornament: color of choice and grey

Penguin: Black

Snowman/woman: White

 

Round 1-

Chain 4,

15 DC in the 4th chain from hook.

Slip stitch to beginning chain 3.

 

Round 2-

Chain 3,

2 DC in each stitch around.

Slip stitch to beginning chain 3.

 

Round 3-

Chain 3,

1 DC in first stitch,

* 2 DC in next stitch, 1 DC in next stitch*

*-* Continue around, Slip stitch to beginning chain 3.

 

Round 4-

Chain 2,

HDC in the front loops only of each stitch around.

Slip stitch to beginning Chain 2.

 

 

Sides and Handle

 

Rounds 5 - 10

Chain 3

1 DC in each stitch around both loops.

Slip stitch to beginning chain 3.

 

Round 11

Chain 2

1 HDC in each stitch around.

Slip stitch to beginning chain 2.

 

Round 12

Chain 1

1 SC in each stitch around.

Slip stitch to beginning chain 1.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

 

Handle-

Chain 32

1 HDC 3rd chain from hook.

1 HDC in each chain.

Fasten off and sew to the top of bag.

 

 

Ornament-

Grey yarn

Round 12 and Handle

 

Gingerbread-

White yarn

Round 12 and handle

 

 

Reindeer-

 

Ears:

Attach brown yarn in second stitch from where the handle is attached.

Chain 3

2 Double crochet

2 Treble/triple crochet

2 Double Crochet

Chain 3

Slip stitch

All in same stitch.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

 

Attach brown yarn in second stitch from where the handle is attached

on the other side and make the other ear same as above.

 

 

Horns:

Attach yellow/gold yarn in second stitch beside ear.

Chain 9

Half double crochet 2nd chain from hook and next stitch.

Chain 3

Half double crochet 2nd chain from hook.

Half double crochet in the rest of chains of chain 9

Slip stitch to beginning.

Place a piece of pipecleaner/chenille stem to back of horn.

Take yarn needle and sew the pipecleaner/chenille stem to back of horn.

 

Attach yellow/gold yarn in second stitch beside 2nd ear and repeat above.

 

 

Attach eyes, nose and mouth.

 

 

 

Penguin-

White body piece:

Chain 3

7 Double crochet into 3rd chain from hook

Turn, Chain 3

2 Double crochet in each stitch.

Turn, Chain 3

1 Double crochet in first stitch, *2 double crochet in next stitch,

1 double crochet in next stitch.*

Repeat *-* around.

Fasten off and leave long tail for sewing onto penguin.

 

 

Nose:

Orange yarn

Chain 7

Half double crochet 2nd chain from hook and each chain across.

Turn Chain 2

Half double crochet decrease in first 2 stitches, half double crochet in next

stitch, half double crochet decrease in last 2 stitches.

Turn chain 2

Half double crochet decrease in the 3 stitches.

Fasten off and leave long tail for sewing onto penguin.

Attach nose to white body piece.

 

Attach white body piece to front of black bag and attach eyes.

 

 

 

Snowman/woman-

Nose:

Orange yarn

Chain 7

Half double crochet 2nd chain from hook and each chain across.

Turn Chain 2

Half double crochet decrease in first 2 stitches, half double crochet in next

stitch, half double crochet decrease in last 2 stitches.

Turn chain 2

Half double crochet decrease in the 3 stitches.

Fasten off and leave long tail for sewing onto snowman/woman.

Fold nose in half and take tail and sew up the side to form carrot.

Sew onto snowman/woman.

 

Attach eyes of choice. For snowwoman take black yarn and make eyelashes.

 

Make mouth of choice.

 

You can also make hat for top of snowman/woman.

With black yarn or color of choice for hat:

Round 11

Chain 2

1 HDC in each stitch around just front loops.

Slip stitch to beginning chain 2.

 

Round 12

Chain 1

1 SC in each stitch around both loops.

Slip stitch to beginning chain 1.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

 

Handle-

Chain 32

1 HDC 3rd chain from hook.

1 HDC in each chain.

Fasten off and sew to the top of bag.

 

For snowman-

Attach black yarn to unworked loop on round 11.

Chain 2

2 double crochet in each unworked loop around. Slip stitch to beginning

double crochet.

Fasten off weave in ends.

 

For snowwoman-

Attach hat color of choice to unworked loop on round 11.

Chain 2

3 Double crochet in first stitch, *1 half double crochet in next stitch,

3 double crochet in next stitch.*

Continue *-* around to the beginning. Slip stitch to the beginning double crochet.

Fasten off weave in ends.

 

 

 

Gingerbread-

Attach eyes of choice.

Make nose and mouth.

Decorate to preference.
