I might try this pattern again just to see it less "intense". but the colour sure was fun while I was working it.

I followed the pattern faithfully, but my stitch count and lenth of dress just don't match. I can't figure out what in the world I could have done wrong. I even added 3 rows of dc, but the gown only comes mid-calf, and looks much fuller than your pics. The crinoline only comes just below her knee. Help!

I'm sorry but I can't come up with any suggestions for you other than to keep working the rows until they are long enough. I can't imagine what the problems might be.

Yes, you are right.  it should be 2dc in 14 both times.  sorry about that.  I'll see if I can fix that.

The Stole…

 

 

w/ Bernat baby sparkle yarn (3 wt of 6) and 5.mm hook. I’m using a larger hook to get a very light effect.

 

 

 

Ch 76…

 

Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook *ch 2, sk 2, sc in next * rep to end.

 

Row 2: sc in 1st, *ch 2, sc in next sc* rep to end.

 

Rep row two until your stole is big enough for your taste.

 

Finish by working [ch 5/ sc in next sc] loops around edge. fudge the ends as you wish.

 

The crinoline…

Foundation row: work 29 [sc/ch 3] around waistband, ch 1, dc in 1st sc. (30 ch 3 sp)

 

Row 2: sc in same ch 3 sp, *ch 3, sc in next ch 3 loop to last, ch 1, dc in beg sc.,

 

Row 3-10: work w/ ch 4 loops and begin to work in spiral. Keep note of your start location generally and continue until you have 10 rows.

 

Row 11:* work 1 ch4 loop in one loop then work 2 ch4 loops in the next loop* rep to end. Break off white. Att blue in a ch 4 loop.

 

Work 2 dc in loop, *ch 1, 3 dc in next loop* rep to end, end w/ ch 1, 1 more dc in beg loop, join. Ch 1.

 

Sc in same st, *ch 3, sc in middle dc of next 3dc group* rep to end, end with [ch 1, dc in beg. Sc.]

 

Work a row of ch 4 loops. End w/ ch 2, dc in beg sc.

 

Work next row w/ ch 5 loops.
