Hi! I'm sorry that I can't help out this time; but I wanted to wish you luck with your endeavors! I admire your devotion.

 

Just a thought... Have you contacted any of the yarn manufacturers/suppliers? I wonder if they might send you their yarn "scraps" or returns that cannot be resold. You may need to pay for shipping, but it might get you a decent amount of yarn.

If you have a Walmart close by, they donate to charities several times per year. I made afghans for nursing homes a couple years back,and I signed up at the service desk to ask for yarn for them -- you have to fill out a form telling them what you will be using it for,then they choose a certain number of people to give donations to. I think they gave me 60 buck's worth of yarn ,which was enough to make several lapghans .
