Knitted cast on.

I finally learned how to do the knitted cast on and the cable cast on. I had learned long tail, and that's it. Last weekend, our library had a knit-in, and there were knitters from a local group called "Cultured Pearls" and they helped me learn how. I'm so happy.

 

Is there any other cast-ons that would be useful to know?

I am new to knitting and I found the knitted cast on to be so much neater on the finished product. I would be interested in knowing other methods as well, does youtube offer videos on these?

I use the knitted and cable cast on the most. I was working on a scarf and needed to use the backwards e cast on. Had to go look it up. Forgot what it looked like..

Yes, the

has become my favorite for socks or sleeve cuffs. It doesn't look sloppy at all but still has a lot of stretch.
