Tapestry bag

I am trying to make this bag but to me it seems like that the number of foundation stitches is wrong. Also am I suppose to increase it on four corners like a rectangle shape? The pattern isn't too clear about it.

You will be making an oval shape instead of a rectangle. You will crochet on the one side of the chain and increase on the end then turn the chain and work on the other side puting the increases in the corners where they say to. When it is the size needed for the bottom you will just do dcs in the round going up for the bag but changing colors like they say for the pattern.
