Looking for Granny ripple afghan pattern

wendy teeguarden

Question

I am looking for a Granny ripple afghan pattern. One using a med. size hook and one strand of yarn would be great -but does anyone know of one that uses two strands of yarn held together (and a larger hook) ?

Thank You.

I don't know if you have to be a member to view patterns on Ravelry but there is a great pattern for just this called Birdlebee's Granny Ripple.

You can pretty much use any pattern that calls for one strand of yarn with a smaller hook and then just change it. Just use a hook that you are comfortable with and that won't make your stitches too tight or too loose using 2 strands. Make the practice swatch!

I've done this myself on 'hurry-up" projects or ones that I want extra heavy or warm.

If you DO choose to use 2 strands think about blending colors. They always look so so nice.

Such as:

2 strands - blue for a chosen number of rows

1 strand blue and 1 strand (say) lavender for a chosen number of rows

2 strands lavender for a chosen number of rows

1 strand lavender and one strand pink for a chosen number of rows

2 strands pink......................

you get the idea.

Have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
