Contemporary Crochet

What do you think are the most contemporary and fashion forward crochet sites? And this could go in other forums but also magazines, books, even fashion designers who use crochet!

I really like to crochet but am looking for some new things because I'm bored with basics. One of the biggest problems I have is that sometimes crochet seems "old" or "frumpy" in my opinion, no offense anyone. I'm 25 and want to make things as young and vibrant as I am!

Here's some I like:

I really like Julia vanconsin's big bow cardigan! It's cute!

I wondered what yoola's designs would look like made of thread?

My favorite Vaconsin design is the Samira pullover:)

I think Yoola's designs need the structure of the metal, but the new yarns that include stainless steel might work, Habu textiles makes these http://kpixie.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=35_54

also Lion Brand http://www.lionbrand.com/yarns/lbCollectionStainlessSteelWool.html

hmmm:think maybe there are other fairly stiff fibers that you could make such shapes with....maybe the Habu paper yarn.....

Kim Werker has edited a couple of books that you might like to look at, they have the Anthropologie kind of look, i think. CrochetMe and Crocheted Gifts, you can see them on this page http://www.interweavestore.com/Crochet/Books.html Kim was editor of Interweave Crochet magazine when they published the Big Bow cardigan.

Also on that page Crochet in Color and Blueprint Crochet have contemporary designs. All of these should be available through your local library.
