Okay now the only question I have is how would you make it for a man or child? How many then would I have to chain?

If possible measure the foot for width from ankle around the foot to the other side of ankle. Now crochet a chain that length.

For length measure the foot from heel to toes and then crochet rows until you get that measurement.

For the men's I have made I usually start with between 38-41.

And for children I usually start with between 15-25 depending on age.

Hope this helps.

Yes that helps me very much. My dad has been wanting a pair of slippers but couldn't find an easy pattern to make him a pair.
