I'm over by Buffalo, which I've just learned apparently has a nice little yarn store. I plan to go check it out tomorrow.

I live in Stillwater and at the Darn Knit Anyway store(http://www.darnknitanyway.com) there is a free knit/Crochet group every Monday from 1-3 pm and on Thursdays from 6-8 pm. I go there and it's so much fun. The people that work there make you feel like they've known you forever. Come one come all and join us!
