knit1 purl 2

Does anyone have this book Knit 1 Purl 2 in Crochet? I was wondering if this is knooking? I saw it on the other day and wanted to know a bit more about it before I made the investment.

It is not knooking. knooking is really knitting, just using a crochet hook and a "String".

Knit1 purl2 is crocheting with slip stitches etc in such a way that it looks like knitting.

Let's just say that I bought that book and tried it, then tried knooking, and decided to brush up my knitting skills which have been rusting for, er, decades instead.

 

The K1P2 book uses a much larger hook than you normally would (an L hook for worsted weight). It creates dense fabric on a rather large scale. I was disappointed that the stockinette was horizontal-looking instead of vertical like knitting (such is the nature of crochet).

 

Knooking=knitting, but I didn't care for working the stitches off the cord.

Wish I had researched a tad more and found this thread before I purchased.

 

I'm hoping Bendy will reply to a pm and get me over the confusion of the CO/BO section.

I can't get any further with the book till I get that part started.

 

Glanced at Knooking at the Rav forum but haven't studied the techniques too closely to know whether I want to try that just yet.
