New to felting...the quest

Hope you're all well!

 

I have a question to throw to people who are in the know:

 

what do you think are the best yarns for felting?

 

I have had varied results, including allegedly 100% wool (yeah, right) that stretched to twice its size! Acrylic anyone??

 

I love the feel of felted accessories, mmmm....tactile!

Patons wool I feel felts the best for me! Very consistent, felts wonderfully! I have felted a ton of drawstring bags! Good luck with your future projects!

I agree Patons is great I especially like their SWS. Lion Brand has wool as well but their skeins are smaller,and cost MORE! Have fun this too is an addictive fiber art!

Thanks for that, I love Patons too, though it means a trip into Newcastle to stock up. I have made a solemn oath to use up my stash before I buy any more. My house just isn't big enough!!

I like the 100% wool Patons and Cascade 220. You have to be careful not to use washable wool (it's been specially treated to be washable and it won't felt, will just stretch out).
