How would I make this blanket?

winterlights08

Question

I'd like to make this blanket, but I don't know how to go about finding a pattern for it, and I have a very hard time working without a pattern :blush. Bella's Bunk Does anyone know what it would be called so I can hunt for a pattern, or maybe just tell me the basic stitch pattern? Thanks!

It looks to me like it is a granny made in rows instead of rounds. here http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=101121&highlight=granny+stripes is a previous discussion about this kind of pattern. the last link given may be the best one for a pattern.

it is possible that it is a granny rectangle, since we can't really see all of it, but I think it is done in rows.

The woman at this site is going to post a tutorial

http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/

I just saw that a few minutes ago :lol. I'll be looking forward to seeing that, I love Attic 24 :c9. Whatever she comes up with will probably be easy to follow, her ripple pattern is the only one that makes sense to me!

In the photo on the bed, it looks like it's done in rows instead of rounds, but the etsy shop photos show that they're done in rounds.

You could make it either way, though....whichever you liked better. Once you learn the basic stitch pattern, you can make it just the way you want! :)

From the close-up it looks to be simply granny clusters of 3 DC in one space, just like a granny square but done in a row. Very pretty blanket!
