The pineapple stitch is simple and lovely!! I love the results and I'm so addicted to is. I made this tablecloth in less than a week and I just love it!!!

I'm not a beginner, but I love it anyway.. BEGINNERS-- I reccommend pineapples!

Here is the link to the pattern that I used... Mine was from an old magazine, but it is the same pattern, right down to the treble crochets.

Another one that looks a little simpler, but is essentially the same, (the pineapples start later and get larger is here:

I know the patterns say ADVANCED, but I don't believe it. If you can count and do the basic stitches.. ch st, sc, dc and tc, you can do this.. patience time and keeping count is all you need.

Its really just a GREAT BIG DOILY! Go for it!

A week? girl you must have a lot of crochet time during the week... It takes me a week to do a doily most of the time... Between having the grand children most of the week, cooking, cleaning , computer time, and having time for hubby so he doesn't feel rejected... You are good girl not to mention you crochet so beautifully... Thanks for sharing ... Hugs, MOlly

Oh my!! That is gorgeous!!! I do not think that I would have the patience to do something like that unless I had a huge amount of free time!! Should I decide to chuck the towel in at work and go live on the beach in Fiji, where did you find that pattern?? :hug

Wow, that's gorgeous(I love pineapples, too)! And you did it in just a week? That would've taken me at least a month.

Kathleen, that tablecloth is absolutely lovely :nworthy. Did you design the pattern yourself? Irregardless it looks wonderful, you did a terrific job :).

What pattern did you use, and could a relative novice accomplish it?:think

The really cool thing about these tablecloths is they are made in one piece.

Yes... I think a novice could do this. Okay, okay, I know the pattern says advanced, but if you can count and do a dc, ch st and sc you can do this pattern.. really.. honest. Just patience and time is all it takes!

This pattern is almost EXACTLY like the one I used, only mine is from a different source, and in the pattern I used, the pineapples started sooner and stay the same size. In this pattern the pineapples get larger as you go around. This one is easier because the pineapples come in a little later-- it is, essentially, the same as the one I used.

After more searching this one looks EXACTLY like mine-- the picture and everything. I read it through and it really is the same. Unlike the pattern above, the pineapples don't get larger, but stay the same size like mine. It does use a Treble crochet like mine did too-- which IMHO makes it go that much faster.
