I am 54 years old and I have crocheting for 4 years now. I started crocheting when I made my first blanket for the Great Nephew born in Nov 2006. This kept my mind occupied as my Dad had a fall and was in the hospital from the end of June till he past away in Aug 2006. A co-worker taught me how to crochet.

I will be 26 in April. I taught myself how to crochet 5 or 6 years ago. My great aunt has crocheted for as long as I can remember; she is the one who inspired me to learn.

I'm 20, and I have been knitting/crocheting since middle school. I get a range of reactions; from disbelief and rudeness to interest and requests for things.

Don't you just hate it when people are rude about it? It's not like you're going around knocking their hobbies, which can't be very enriching if they're rude about crochet.

I am 38 and have been crocheting since I was 13, 25 years. I thought it was pretty funny when I went to a needlework conference about 15 years ago and the questionnaire asked how long you have been doing any kind of needlework. The longest option was 10 or more years, so I already fit that one.

I'll be 38 in a month. I started when I was about 12 when I needed something to do during those long car rides for family vacation, but never went anywhere. Then about 2 1/2 years ago my best friend told me she was pregnant, so I picked it up again to make a baby blanket (which I was too shy to actually give her) Now if I don't crochet at least every other day I get CRANKY!

I was told that crocheting is for old women once. I looked at him and said, "I'm too fabulous to be old, and always will be. Now no scarf for you!" lol
