Recommended Posts

I want to make a doll..and I'm totally intimidated! I have a darling granddaughter I'd love to make a doll(s) for with clothes.

What is your favorite??

Lots of Love are nice baby dolls. They have great facial expressions. Next I use Barbie then the Red Hat society dolls. It would all depend on the age of the granddaughters as to what kind of doll you want to make for them.

There is also the Strawberry Shortcake type doll for TD Creations. They also have some great bed dolls.:hook

Go to Crochet Central and look at the Free Spirit Doll. She is about 9 and 1/2 inches and has a lot of clothes.

My favorite dolls are Alexander dolls, but as for cloth ones, I wore my raggedy ann doll out to death when I was a child. Here's a link for a Raggedy like doll:

Here's a link to another cute amigurumi doll:

I hope you find one that you'll try. Don't be intimidated. If you have problems you can always ask any of us on Crochetville for help.

I recently made a Chiffon doll from the yarn everywhere site and was really impressed with the directions and ease of the project. I expected it to take me a couple weeks to finish it (working on it after work) but actually got it done over a weekend! The outfits can be easily customized also.

I should also mention it was the very first doll that I made and still found the pattern to be easy to understand
