Materials:
Worsted Weight yarn (like Red Heart supersaver yarn)
Size H hook (5.00mm)
Yarn needle (to weave in ends)

Finish Size: 12”h x 12”w inches

Notes:

Beginning ch3 for Rnds 1,2,7,8,9 counts as a dc.

Beginning ch4 for Rnds 3,4,5,6 counts as a dc and ch1.

Directions:

Rnd 1: Ch5, join with sl st to first chain to form ring, ch3, 2 dc in ring, ch3, [3 dc, ch3] Do this 3 times, join with sl st to top of ch3.
(12dc, 4-ch3 spaces)

Rnd 2: Ch3, 1 dc in each of the next 2 sts, (2 dc, ch3, 2 dc) all in next ch3 space, [1 dc in each of the next 3 sts, (2 dc, ch3, 2 dc) all in next ch3 space] Do this 3 times, join with sl st to top of ch3.
(28dc, 4-ch3 spaces)

Rnd 3: Ch4, skip next st, 1 dc in each of the next 3 sts, (2 dc, ch3, 2 dc) all in next ch3 space, [1 dc in each of the next 3 sts, ch1, skip next st, 1 dc in each of the next 3 sts, (2 dc, ch3, 2 dc) all in next ch3 space] Do this 3 times, 1 dc in each of the next 2 sts, join with sl st in 3rd chain of ch4.
(40dc, 4-ch1 spaces, 4-ch3 spaces)

Note: If you want the to have a more finished look you could add a Rnd of sc. Work 1 sc into each dc and work 2 sc, ch2, 2 sc in each ch3 space.

It's a lovely pattern, as yours always are. This will definately be one I use for a charity pattern. I love to send a square with hearts. Thanks for sharing with us.

Let's see, I did this pattern. I did dc's. They are yarn over once, not twice. Does that help? I think that attic24 blog has a conversion chart. She is from somewhere in the UK and talks about the difference between US and European stitches. Good luck!
