Not-so-blue rose doilies

I made both of these, using the blue rose doily pattern (freepatterns.com).

The white one I made shortly after Christmas and while looking at it, decided it would be good for playing with color.

 

It's amazing what the main thread does with the colored sewing thread I added. I started with cream colored crochet thread (size 10) and added a pale spruce type of green sewing thread for the leaves and a pink on the flowers.

 

And here's the second doily again, with a corner of the white doily, just for contrast.

my screen doesn't show the color as nicely after I uploaded them...hopefully it looks better on yours.

They both are in desperate need of a good blocking!
