Rose Parade

Recommended Posts

I just finished Katchkan's Rose Parade doily in the Feb. 2010 Crochet World.

Very appropriate that they put it in the February issue - it makes me think of the old-timey stand-up valentine cards covered with roses:rose

It was a challenging pattern, made a little more so since the magazine completely rewrote it and introduced (mostly minor, but annoying) errors (and there was no errata posted at the time I started it). The biggest one, which Kathy kindly cleared up for me--they left off a row of petals in the outer pink flowers! :eek

I also cheated a bit: I didn't do the padded centers, subbed a dtr for the bullion stitches, and continuously joined the outer flowers to save some end-weaving.

So glad to see your doily turned out so well. It's gorgeous. But then I am prejudiced. Glad to help clarify what you needed.
