I don't have any links for you but you could look at square doily patterns with pineapples in then then stitch them together just like you would for blankets with granny squares. I've seen lots of square pineapple patterns made with thread. So maybe that would help you narrow your search?

edit: here is a link to pineapples, it has square motifs and doilies. Hope this helps.

I didn't have any trouble downloading the document to my computer, so I'm at a loss.

It's one document that includes 4 patterns and assembly instructions for pillowghans.

To save it, I clicked on the Save icon at the top of the document and to print just the instructions for the pineapple pattern, I scrolled down and selected the pineapple pattern, clicked on the printer icon and selected Print Current Document to print just the 2 pages of that pattern. Hope you find this helpful.

You can also open the pdf's in the latest version of Foxit (3.1.something), a much smaller and faster pdf reader.

::there is a free and a paid version.. all you need is the free::

http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/reader/reader-interstitial.html

At first, all you will see is the disclaimer, but if you look on the lower left side, you'll see a paper clip. Click the paper clip and it will bring up the list of patterns. Click whichever you want to see.. and there you are.

I really don't like Adobe..it's a huge piece of software and Foxit does the same job and much faster. It does take a little getting used to.. but the learning curve is very small.
