Baptism Gown - Bamboo Thread

Here's my precious 4 month old granddaughter in her baptism gown. I used the Offset shell pattern in the LA leaflet Christening Sets to Crochet by Kay Meadors. It took 5 balls of Aunt Lydia's white bamboo crochet thread size 10. I used a boye size 6/1.80 mm hook. I made the hat, too, but it was too small. The booties are from the Gourmet Crochet booklet Delilah Pearl Collection Thread Baby Shoes, Oopsie Daisy pattern. I didn't do the lacy edging. Same thread and hook. On both the dress and booties i used a purchased embellishment I got at Joanne's. The dress turned out so soft and "drapey".

The inserts are just white tissue paper folded up.

Baby and gown are both wonderful. I love the drape of the bamboo thread for things like this.
