other supplies: yarn needle, scissors, something to use as stitch marker

stitches: chain (ch); single crochet (sc); double crochet (dc); slip stitch (sl st)

other abbreviations used: ea = each; sk = skip

INSTRUCTIONS

round 1: Ch3 (counts as 1 dc), 11 dc in first ch. Join in first dc, place marker in join. (12 dc)

round 2: Ch 2 (counts as 1 dc), 2 dc in same st as join, *2 dc in next st. repeat from * around. End with dc in st with marker, remove marker. Join in first dc. (24 dc)

round 3: Ch 2 (counts as 1 dc), 2 dc in same st as join, *1 dc in next st, 2 dc in next st. Repeat from * around, leave last 4 sts unworked. Turn. (30 dc)
