Hello everyone. I am so happy to be part of your forum.

I was having trouble with a pattern I am working on. Some unfamiliar terms. Does anyone know what they would mean when pattern says an "eyelet", "gussett" and "grommets"? It is a bag I am working on. Such a pretty bag, I hope I am able to figure this out. Thank you!!! Julie Gwyn

:cheerWelcome from a Kiwi in New Zealand.

An eyelet row is usually a row of holes to thread a cord through.

A gussett is an extra bit, usually under a pleat to allow for more room.

A grommet is usually a metal ring which can also be an eyelet. A bit like the place on your shoes where you thread the laces.

Hope this helps.

Have fun.

Welcome to Crochetville!

I make a lot of bags & the gusset is usually the piece that joins the front of the bag to the back of the bag & makes the the bag roomier inside. It is usually crocheted in a strip & then during construction, it becomes the sides & bottom of the bag. I hope that helps.
