LONG overdue (WAY too busy lately)... Here are the details from our second hospital drop!

It proved to be a very trying day for me!! I forgot my camera...... then borrowed my sisters..

I started out with ALL 3 of my girls.. swapped my niece for my oldest girl (who had to work at noon)...

THEN.. proceeded to drive to St Paul. After getting lost.. finding my way with my GPS in my phone.. then driving around the hospital THREE times to figure out where I was suppose to meet Tom (TONS of construction at this hospital)

WE ARRIVED!!

I snapped a few pics to show you.

Tom was so grateful for all the toys. He informed me that the Bingo box was just about empty. This should tide them over for some time.

Thank you again to all of you who made this years toy drive a success!

I CERTAINLY could not do it without all the help!!

Sorry it has taken me a few days to get this thread up!

Life it flying by!!

I am going to be going Tuesday next week it looks like to deliver the rest of the toys Childrens hospital. I am just waiting for the final call.

This trip went fantastic!

We delivered over 500 toys to the kids.

We were able once again to be part of the closed circuit television show within the hospital. We said hello to all the kids, and announced that we delivered over 500 toys for them.

One of the c'viller here, 2 of her children made get well cards for the kids.

My youngest Addie, and my neighbor Brooke, did the same.

We showed up with about a dozen get well cards.

Tom, who runs the show, took the time to show the kids all the cards and read them out loud to the kids!

I tried my best not to cry!

They invite a child down to read the news to the kids also. KariAnn was reading on Tuesday. From above her shirt, you could see a huge incision going down her chest. She also had the sticky pads to hook her up to monitors showing. It broke my heart.

We also seen many kids who were walking around in pj's, no hair, and masks.

I am reminded again and again why we do this every year.

Some of these kids dont get to leave the hospital for months at a time.

I cant even imagine what it is like for those children, or their family.

It hits me every year when we deliver the toys, how lucky I am to have my girls in the health they are.

Now, for any stragglers after we deliver next week... I will be back down at the U of M on October 3rd for Libbys check up.

I will bring in any additional toys then.

Now, for the pictures!! We took a few scenery pics on the way down, and on the way back.

Enjoy the sites of Minneapolis!!

Thank you so much to all of you who have donated so far!!

More pictures to come next week of the next toy delivery!!

Kristen

I think it's so great you do this. I also really think it's great that you involve your girls! And they are beautiful btw. But it's so good to teach your children charity. That's a quality I try to instill in my own son. I don't know the story of your daughter but I hope that she's ok now.
