Uncle's Jewelry Box = My New Crochet Box

Recommended Posts

My great uncle, age 98, recently passed away. I was lucky enough to be able to have his jewelry box, which I am turning into my new crochet notions storage box.

Briana, I'm so sorry for your loss. That's a beautiful oak jewelry box, a real treasure and a wonderful way to remember your Great Uncle. Did he make the box?

Thank you. No, I am sure he didn't make it, but it probably was made by Amish. Whether he purchased it in Amish country, or just from a furniture store that sells Amish made, I don't know.

I am sorry for your loss. It is so great that you are able to remember him by having something of his to use and look at daily. This is a true family heirloom.

What a beautiful keepsake, and I'm sure the family is grateful that it went to someone who will care for it as well as use it!

Wow, what a way to remember him. Now if my Mom were to give me her old Crochet hooks, I'd probably accept them and I know I wouldn't actually use them because if my memory serves me correctly, they were Boye hooks, and I just can't seem to get the hang of using them.
