Using a row counter.

I bought one of those little do-hicky things that go on the end of your needle and helps you keep tract of what row you are on.

My question is:

Do I turn the number up one when I finish a row? Or do I turn it to the actual row number that I am working on?

For example, I have just completed row 4 on pattern. Do I turn the number up to 4 or do I turn it to 5 to let me know that I am working on row 5?

I've heard it done both ways.

What's the best way?

I'm the odball...LOL! I click it to the number of the row I just finished....

Same here. If I put it on the row I am working on, I will get confused.:blink:loco

I have been thinking about getting the row counters for knitting needles. I have a row counter for crocheting and I love it. I always have it on the number of rows I completed.

do the row counters on knitting needles get in the way of your work?

No, I don't think so. And it does help you keep on tract when you are knitting along.
